Try your hand at mcconnelling

Jon Stewart of The Daily Show never gets tired of the opportunity to make fun of Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell’s facial resemblance to a turtle and to try out his voice at how a turtle might talk. McConnell’s latest campaign commercial has provided Stewart with another golden opportunity to poke fun at his stiffness.

If I grok American spelling rules correctly, it should be spelled “mcconneling”, with a single el.

I love this! On Saturday, there were about 4,000 such videos on YouTube … as of now it’s up to 15,300.

@ Rene -- Nope. Since there are two “L”s in his last name, both stay. Examples: “mcconnelling”, “mcconnelled”, & “mcconnellabus”

Ah, thanks, Timothy! One keeps learning here. That’s actually my reason for visiting FtB. (My atheism was firmly established half a century ago.)

I still need to make a better version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song than either of the ones I found on YouTube.

Actually I think Jon Stewart is mocking McConnell by imitating a specific Loony Tunes character, Cecil Turtle. I’m in Stewart’s generational cohort, so I recognize the voice from Saturday cartoons.
I didn’t see any ready clips You Tube, no doubt because it’s closely monitored to flag for copyright, but I found a voice clip here.

You’re welcome Rene. English has very weird rules. (And, just to set the record straight, there is no such English conjugation such as ‘mcconnellabus’. I was just kidding around.)
