Don’t let the door hit you on your way out

Fox News blowhard Sean Hannity took umbrage with some remarks made by New York state governor Andrew Cuomo that Hannity interpreted to mean that the governor wanted extreme conservatives to leave the state. We have seen a spate of rich people recently whining about how people are being mean to them and they think it is all very unfair. Tom Perkins is one of the most extreme of the lot, saying that criticisms of the wealthy are similar to Nazi Germany but he is by no means alone.

Hannity worked himself into quite a lather about this attack and threatened to up and leave the state and go elsewhere, as if anyone cared. But people like that always have an inflated sense of their own importance. It must be because they are surrounded by servile types who pander to their self-esteem.

But The Daily Show decided that Hannity’s comments were worth mocking.

Several years ago, someone commented on Brayton’s blog that he knew Hannity quite well and that he really believed very little of what he said on the Fascist News Channel. Similarly, I read somewhere that a former boy friend of Ann Coulter said much the same thing about her.

It is not Sean Hannitys and Ann Coulters that we have to worry about. We have ample evidence to the effect that they don’t believe in the BS they serve. We have to worry about the NEXT GENERATION of wingnuts (like Ted Cruz) who grew up on this poison and seriously believe it. They are the ones who are going to destroy this country for us, and they are the ones that need to be unseated if you want to save democracy.

If that is true, it is by no means a mark in their favor. It simply means that they are willing to lie and mislead people for a buck, AKA a con artist.

    Bill Maher, I think?

Back a few years ago Hannity blew out the claim that waterboarding wasn’t torture and he would undergo it just to prove that he was right. Hitchens allowed himself to undergo the procedure while Hannity chickened out.

I think what needs to happen here, this being a perfect world, is that from now until he moves everyone meeting Mister Hannity needs to ask him, out loud, “So … Mister Hannity, how is the move going? And keep it up until he either moves out of state permanently, or admits out loud and very publicly that he is a posturing pompous ass.
