It was Harvey the Holy Spirit’s fault, that little scamp

Remember the stenographer Dianne Reidy who went off on a rant about the Freemasons and Jesus during the vote in the House of Representatives to end the shut down and raise the debt ceiling? I suggested that she had become unglued as a result of being forced to listen day after day to all the inane things that legislators were saying.

But in an email to Fox News, she explains what happened.

“For the past 2 and 1/2 weeks, the Holy Spirit has been waking me up in the
middle of the night and preparing me (through my reluctance and doubt) to deliver a message in the House Chamber.

That is what I did last night”

So basically she was trying to get the Holy Spirit (I prefer to call him Harvey) to stop nagging her in the middle of the night to do the right thing. That’s a relief. I had thought she had acted out of temporary insanity and it is nice to learn that there is a rational explanation for her behavior.

Apparently the psychiatrist who interviewed her at the hospital decided that she was harmless and sent her home. When she gets the next message from the Holy Spirit and does something a bit more dangerous, everyone will be so surprised.

Heh. Your post title reminds me of the “Not Me” ghosts in Family Circus. Hey, if you have any artistic ability, there’s an idea for a graphic!
