Apparently it is not uncommon for Russian car owners to mount cameras on their dashboards to record everything as they drive along. This makes for some remarkable videos and someone has made an interesting compilation.
It struck me that such videos of what an accident actually looks like might make good viewing at driver training schools, and be quite persuasive about the importance of defensive driving.

I lived there for several years — but I really didn’t see all that many fights or happen upon very many serious accidents.

And it looked like a lot of them where in snow or perhaps wet or icy conditions. I was surprised how many cars went so completely out of control (flipping over, catching on fire, etc.) when they had collisions that seemed to be comparable to ones shown on Mythbusters.
