A girl walking along while talking on her phone falls into sinkhole that suddenly opens up. A taxi driver sees it happen and climbs down into the hole to try and get her out. Fortunately she survives and is seemingly unhurt by her experience.
It is really nice the way people take risks to help total strangers in distress. (Via Gawker.)

Aww damn that poor girl! It would be so easy to think that the entire universe was conspiring against you. I’m pretty sure I would.
Kudos to the taxi driver though.

I am so jaded, sitting here thinking how sad it is their government gave them such a crappy ladder or that the roads are in disrepair, when the story is meant toto be about how cool that driver is.

Wow. An 18 foot fall into a hole. Hard to tell from the video, but it looked like she smacked her head on the concrete falling into the hole.
Ouch.
