This needs either a pronoun change or some quotation marks, as reading the linked story shows that the chaplain (outrageous as he was) was not claiming that Sgt. Havrilla was raped to get Chris Rodda’s spiritual attention.

Read some news reports about actual military spending, and the claim does become plausible.

To be clear: There are a small number of people who say they are conservative, but can’t align themselves with the modern GOP, and so can’t call themselves Republican. I think these people are wrong, but I also respect them. If you call yourself a Republican in 2013, though, dude… dunno what to say. I have friends and relatives who fit this category, and I love them and all, but… Dude.

Even worse, most of them are members of Randy Forbes’s Congressional Prayer Caucus, which currently has at least 94 members. That’s nearly 1 in 4 who presumably support this, even if they all didn’t happen to sign onto the letter. And, yes, we’re talking only about the House in both cases. I believe there is also a separate letter from some senators.

Did 1 out of every 8 congressional districts in the US choose, as their representative to the federal government, a person incapable of, or unconcerned about, distinguishing fact from fiction?
