Biography

Chris Rodda is the author of Liars For Jesus: The Religious Right's Alternate Version of American History and Debunking David Barton's Jefferson Lies: #2 - Jefferson Founded a Secular University. Since the release of Liars For Jesus in 2006, Chris has been blogging at Talk2Action.org, Huffington Post, and elsewhere about the use of historical revisionism in everything from education to legislation. Chris's blog on Freethoughtblogs.com will eventually accompany a weekly podcast, "This Week in Christian Nationalism," if Chris can ever find the time to launch it. In the meantime, the name of her blog will continue to make no sense. Chris is also the Senior Research Director for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), but the opinions expressed by her on this blog are her personal opinions, and not necessarily those of MRFF.

Happy Birthday, Thomas Jefferson

270 years ago today, on April 13, 1743, the most lied about man in American history was born. The other day, in “honor” of the one year anniversary of the publication of the “least credible history book in print” — David Barton’s The Jefferson Lies – I decided to make the first installment of the seven-book …

One Year Ago Today, the ‘Least Credible History Book in Print’ was Published

One year ago today, on April 10, 2012, a new book hit the shelves — David Barton’s The Jefferson Lies: Exposing the Myths You’ve Always Believed About Thomas Jefferson. Although Barton has been writing “history” books for well over two decades, he was relatively unknown outside of evangelical Christian circles and those of us who …

Hell Hath Frozen Over — MRFF Agrees with Ron Crews?

dod-screen-shot

I think it goes without saying that there is very little that the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) and the Chaplains Alliance for Religious Liberty (CARL) — an anti-gay, fundamentalist Christian organization whose primary purpose seems to be fighting the nonexistent threat of military chaplains being forced to perform same sex marriage ceremonies — would …

Open Letter to Air Force Chief of Staff from MRFF’s Director of LGBT Affairs

After several exchanges with Gen. Mark Welsh, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, regarding Maj. Jonathan C. Dowty’s endless stream of anti-gay rants on his ”Christian Fighter Pilot” blog, MRFF’s Director of LGBT Affairs, Edith A. Disler, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, has decided to let everyone know about the lack of action taken by the …
