Update: “Christian Fighter Pilot Forum Discontinued”

On Friday, in a post titled “Has the Air Force Finally Cracked Down on the Gay-Bashing Christian Fighter Pilot?, I posted that all of the many offensive homophobic posts had been removed from the blog of Air Force Major Jonathan C. Dowty, a.k.a. the “Christian Fighter Pilot.”

By Saturday, Maj. Dowty’s entire blog, which contained plenty of other offensive material besides his anti-gay rants, had been “discontinued.” If you go to the blog section of his website, you now get a page titled ”Christian Fighter Pilot Forum Discontinued” with a message that says: “The God and Country blog has been temporarily disabled. Please return on 15 July for an update.”

What Major Dowty’s “update” on July 15 will be is a mystery, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

I just hope that it will return as the “Christian Fighter Pilot (Retired) Forum” if it must return at all.

  2. 2

Well, it isn’t Cuttlefish — not even close, but…

    The Christianist fighter, J. Dowty
Mayhap’s Seen The Light, and the lout he
    Has been for his d*g
    Now self-censors his blog
(But he still feels all hurty and pouty.)

    (1) Whattayabet July 15 never comes?

    (2) Ah, but he didn’t say July 15 of which >year<.

Haha, Zinc Avenger … I’m seeing FOX in his future, too!

  6. 6

Yep. That’s my guess. “Retired” and ranting.

I’ll bet he even re-posts absolutely everything that was previously in the blog and more.

Happily, as a private citizen, the active duty targets will have the ability to fight back more effectively than they could previously.

I’m actually looking forward to that. Getting popcorn out. Should be “fun”.

    No One

Thing is I read part of his book on Amazon. I actually had respect for him not doing the “booze & broads” fighter pilot thing. To bad he had to taint it with the other nasty stuff.

  8. 8

Ooooh exciting, July 15 is my birthday.

  9. 9

And on the 15th day (of July) we rolled back the screen saver and, behold!, the blog was empty. Fighter Pilot’s friends saw a man that looked like him, but questioned him, “How do we know it is really you?” And he spoke unto them, “See here the holes in my logic? By this shall you know me and my brethren.”

  10. 10

He could still be Christian Fighter Pilot, only now Christian describes the type of Fighter he is instead of fighter being the type of plane he pilots. Sigh.

  11. 11

No one else has said it so I just have to – has he been ‘shot down’?

  12. 12

Well, shutting down his blog this way, he’s going to miss all the Gay Pride fun this summer. I can’t tell you how much I’ll miss him.

  13. 13

Maybe he’s reading Dawkins, Hitchens, and Dennet in order to write thoughtsome reviews. Stay tuned.

@ Donovan … TOO freakin’ funny! “See here the holes in my logic?” totally cracked me up. :-)

  15. 15

Well, the most recent public post on the “Christian Fighter Pilot” Facebook page is 9th of May, but as it is not somewhere I go, I don’t know if that is typical, or if there are more recent non public pages

  16. 16

    Good riddance.

I can pretty clearly imagine how conversation between him and his boss went. Probably some Colonel, probably wasn’t their first conversation, and the Colonel was probably sick and tired of hearing about all this “Christian Fighter Pilot” crap.

Except this time, it was clearly a one-way conversation.

I’d bet money that’s how it went.

  17. 17

I live in hope that since his promotion to major in 2007 he has now failed to make the promotion cut a second time and will shortly be Mister Dowty. His blog activities cannot have impressed the selection boards much.

  18. 18

    So about that update…

  19. 19

Oh wait, it says July, not June. Damn :(
    Those are two confusing months
