As reported by Stars and Stripes a few weeks ago, a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune has been accused of “engaging in sexual behavior with dogs” in his neighborhood. So, naturally, Air Force Maj. Jonathan C. Dowty, a.k.a. the Christian Fighter Pilot, whose countless blog posts about the repeal of DADT show his obvious distress over the repeal not causing any of the catastrophic problems predicted by his fundamentalist brethren, is gleefully attributing this bestiality incident to the repeal.
Maj. Dowty begins one of his posts this morning, US Marine Arrested for Indecency with Dogs:
“Apparently, he thought the repeal of DADT meant he didn’t have to live a lie, and wouldn’t be punished just for loving someone…er, something…whatever.”
Yes, even though this Marine appears to be straight, with the Stars and Stripes article mentioning his spouse and children (whom he is also accused of showing internet porn to), Maj. Dowty, in his desperation to find some kind of negative impact of DADT repeal, is blaming this straight Marine’s deviant behavior on it.
Not familiar with the Christian Fighter Pilot? See my previous posts about about his disturbing obsession with Mikey Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), and his cyber-bullying of non-Christian enlisted service members.

I posted a comment on Maj. Dowty’s blog, asking what led him to the conclusion that those were Staff Sgt. Harpel’s thoughts. I’m not optimistic about getting an answer, or even about my comment making it past “moderation”.

I am not clear about this. Did he commit this offense because he was allowed to ask or was it because he was allowed to tell? Or perhaps I have missed something somewhere.

I wish active duty military personnel could accurately comment on his behavior without risking violating military regulations.
I feel silenced by virtue of his rank. I haven’t responded to any of his dozens (hundreds?) of blog posts about me. It’s not because I don’t want to, but it’s because it’s potentially punishable.
Thank you MRFF / Chris Rodda / Mikey Weinstein for all you do along these lines.

I stopped by Dowty’s blog once. It was more than enough. I don’t understand why Dowty is still commissioned. I get that fighter pilots are expensive to train but this guy’s open posts are an embarrassment to the Air Force.
I imagine he’s in the usual extremist mode and thinks that well, now that you allowed one deviancy you have allowed all of them. It’s the near neighbor of gee, w/o god (threat of hell) in your life you must be a lying, cheating, murdering sob. Deviancy doesn’t generally work that way and neither does social permissioning. Never has. It’s a sloppy argument.

Baal, the AF keeps good track of this guy. There’s been complaints against him before…. and I am sure his blog is heavily monitored.

baal says:
Compare what happens when each US political party has a president. When a democrat is in (e.g. Obama, Clinton), comments critical of the CIC go and went unpunished (except perhaps threats). When a republican is in, prosecution and forced removal are immediate (Bush II, Reagan). Which really believes in free speech?
Dowty? Dowdy is more like it (i.e. lacking in smartness or taste).

What is really amazing is that there is apparently not a single superior officer anywhere who wants to ask Major Malfunction what his major malfunction is. Not even after all this time. Or someone of equal rank. Obviously Major Douchelord is completely free to comment on… whatever hair is up his ass at the moment.
No takers, big, bad, highly-trained military folks? None?

Were the dogs male or female? or didn’t Major Dowty ask?
There is a long military tradition of bestiality: the Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry’s regimental motto was “Faintheart never fucked the pig.”

The anti-gay types have been saying for years that gay rights would lead to bestiality.
Therefore, every instance of bestiality is confirmation.
To heck with cause and effect.

You can’t say it for fear of being persecuted, so I will.
Dowty is hiding behind his rank. And he is rank – his cowardice and the stench of his hypocrisy.

Well, haven’t they been saying giving rights to gays will destroy traditional marriage? Guess they were right.
Naaaaw, that sounded stupid even as I typed it.

He’s since retired, and if he can use his rank on his blog, anyone can criticize it.

The coward, traitor, and liar, JD, has modified his blog post since Ms. Rodda quoted that post.
