So, it’s Mikey Weinstein’s birthday today (Happy Birthday, Mikey!), so, of course, there are some people who just can’t pass up the opportunity to convey their wishes that he’d never been born. Apparently, hell for Mikey is going to be an eternity of being roasted over the flames of birthday candles.

To: ——@militaryreligiousfreedom.orgMr. Weinstein, I am a graduate of the Air Force Academy. And I live in Colorado Springs. And guess what, I am a devout believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and in spreading the Gospel of His grace and truth far and wide. I speak on behalf of many fellow Academy graduates from all over the country who have a message for you and your unbiblical Military “Religious Freedom” Foundation. Apparently you have a serious problem with Christians. Which stems from the fact that you deliberately believe that the Constitution separates our Lord’s Church from state and that America was not founded to be a Christian nation. It is likely that you also are unhappy with the fact that due to your own free choice your rejection of Jesus Christ will be consigning you to burn in torment in hell forever. That’s right Mr. Weinstein. Hell awaits you. As it awaits your wife and children and all who align with the satanic darkness you and your “Freedom Foundation” preach Mr. Weinstein. And we are frankly very glad of it. You hurt people Mr. Weinstein by denying them access to Christ through our Academy and the military more broadly. There is no changing your hatred of Jesus (2 Corinthians 6:14). As a result of your hatred of Jesus Christ and his followers and your refusal to accept the singular Christian heritage of America you have unfortunately single-handedly become the most recognizable graduate of our Academy in its history. A sinister evil demonic clever and conniving and infamous jewish graduate. Why are we not surprised? And now because of the liberal socialist press your blackness overshadows all of the Air Force Academy’s wonderful graduates and their actual accomplishments. You shame our Academy and its cadets families of cadets and staffers and supporters. We know you were born today. As you have become only the strongest tool of the devil it would have been so much better for America and its true Christian heritage had you never been born at all. As you blow out the candles on your cake today Mr. Weinstein your fellow Academy graduates want you to remember that you will not live forever on earth. But that you will live forever in the flames of those candles.

You have to admit, that’s pretty funny. Not exactly the scariest image.

That email would be a lot less depressing if I thought the author’s position was a rare exception among AF Academy grads.

I thought the anti-semetic part was a nice touch -it really saves Mr. Weinstein the trouble of having to take him seriously at all. You know, in case he was tempted to see “reason” by the well-articulated attack on the separation of church and state or the threats to his family. Gosh, that was swell.

A hurt, that of course, is way worse than hell. “I had to wait until I got home, and then there was nobody into whose face I could shove my piety!”
Happy Birthday, Mikey! You got more courage than all these two bit thugs put together.

Although he used scare quotes with the phrase Religious Freedom, he did use acceptable grammar and did not use all caps or random capitalizations. I give him credit for that. But the message was typical Christian hate drivel.
O/T but related: David Barton said the other day that sections of the US Constitution are direct, verbatim quotes from the Bible. He mentioned the article concerning treason which he misidentified as Article III, Section 1. It’s Section 3. He didn’t give a Bible citation for that. He also said that the section requiring that a President had to be a native-born citizen is a direct quote. He cited Deuteronomy 17:15 which talks about choosing a king from among the Israelites. It’s not by any stretch a verbatim quote.
Keep up the good work, Chris.

I don’t understand why he thinks “access to christ” is being denied. There’s still a chaplaincy there. I could take christians seriously if they wouldn’t outright lie.

Why do they on one hand always talk of their judeo-christian values, claim jewish books and mythological figures as their own and then turn around and spout anti-semetism?

Is there a Christian grammar style I am unaware of? Granted, with the credit hours I have in English and Literature, I should have better writing skills than I do, but this is bad. Please tell me that the Air Force Academy is better than this guy is letting on?

Wait.. wait. Would be better if he was never born. Is this email advocating for ideological-selective abortion? You think your child will grow up to be an advocate for religious autonomy within each person, rather than handed down from on high? Well, we have the solution.. or something like that.

I wonder if the individual that wrote this realizes just how weak he thinks his god is if all it takes is the US Constitution to thwart the supposed omnipotent creator of life, the universe, and everything.

To the anonymous, cowardly, so-called “blue zoomie”;
There is so much wrong with your post that it would waste far too much time time to respond point-by-point ! Suffice to say it is a shame that our service academies in general and USAFA in particular have accepted as entrants and allowed to graduate and pollute our armed forces and civilian life those: schooled in ignorance and bigotry; who dishonor their oath(s) to protect and defend the Constitution of the Unites States of America; who persist against all reason and fact to continue to propagate the fallacy that this country ever was or is or -hopefully- ever will be a “Christian nation”; or that Mikey Weinstein or the members of and adherents to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation -myself included- has/hav a “serious problem with Christians … what we have is a PROBLEM with the “amerikan taliban” which you and your ilk so poorly represent and bring disrepute to USAFA.” … oh -and btw- it is particularly egregious that your “education” failed to include basic English, not to mention logical thinking ! … or that you lack the moral courage to put name, rank and serial number on your despicable posts !
Happy Birthday, Mikey, and many, many more of sticking pins in pompous, ignorant asses until there is no longer a need !

“You hurt people Mr. Weinstein by denying them access to Christ through our Academy and the military more broadly. ”
Err, what?! Since when does forced participation equate to “access”? Which is what the MRFF is against–the military forcing soldiers to participate in Christian rituals and carry Christian material (like the Jesus rifles) regardless of the soldier’s religious beliefs?
As far as I know, Christian soldiers are permitted to carry a bible and pray to Jesus. As far as I remember from listening to evangelizing Christians, once you “let Jesus into your heart”, he’s there, and you carry him with you. So a truly Christian soldier should always have “access to Christ” via his or her own heart and prayers, right? And no one is trying to take that from them, right? Why are these people such insecure, whiny babies who can’t handle the presence of people who have a different set of beliefs?

I couldn’t help but read this pissweak ramble as if it were Brüno Gehard, Sacha Baron Cohen’s flamingly gay creation, lispingly dictating it to his boytoy PA.
The colourfully correct and oft repeated “Mr. Weinstein”. The limp wristed segue of candle flames to eternal hell. And my favourite frollick of all, “hell awaits you… and we are frankly very glad of it”. Well frankly, I visualised this dandy airman skipping through a tulip field, a fop dressed in vermillion velvet, overjoyed at Mr Weinstein’s lifetime membership in the basement sauna & bathhouse.
Where does the airforce recruit these flamboyant powder puffs?

Christian love [pronounced: bi-gə-trē]
noun
(1) The instinct by which one’s actions are directed to the promotion of one’s own welfare or well-being, especially an excessive regard for one’s own advantage.
(2) The stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one’s own, and the act of making it known until such difference, or the object of their malice, ceases to exist.

Happy birthday Mikey. Many happy returns.
The letter Chris posted is, as I understand it, one of thousands you get every year with similar messages. This one is probably less threatening but shows the usual lack of cognitive ability common to fundies. Although I believe there are a lot of bright AFA cadets, if this really is the pride of the academy, close the place quick as it graduates morons.

In 27 years in the Canadian Air Force, I never ran into anyone this rabidly christian. While the majority were cafeteria and/or cultural christians, there were more atheists than fundies. If anyone had spewed nonsense like this email writer, they would have been laughed at. What a knuckle-head.

Last thought: If only the knights of the true Lord could organize crusades to show their true piety and devotion like the good old days.
It gets beat to death but if the glorious founders, most of whom were lawyers or trained in the law, had wanted this to be a Christian nation they would have spelled it out clearly and concisely in the Constitution using all kinds of law words and religious symbolism. But nadda. Nadda. Oh well, so much for that hypothesis. Thanks for trying to hijack the nation.

And it is not at all odd that such sentiments are never expressed by such self-dehumanized scum except when essentially (or literally) anonymous, or when they are in a large group, preferably armed.
And I just had a nice Christian telling me that Christian faith was, overall, a good thing for the USA.

How we handle comment moderation here is up to each blogger for their individual blog. I have mine set so that once I approve someone’s first comment, their future comments are automatically approved and no longer moderated. But if it’s someone’s first comment, it gets moderated. I just do it that way to stop any spam that manages to get through the spam filter.

This so reminds me of a video I saw years ago on YouTube where some people in a donut shop get into an argument over religion and ends with one of the women involved screaming “don’t take away my Jesus!” over and over. I looked and couldn’t find it now.
This occurred to me too; I don’t remember any babble lessons on strafing or bombing. There isn’t even that much about birds!
Oh, and while I’m at it, how about a nice internet for usna1960? He can have mine, I have to go get ready for work now, anyway.
