OK, they couldn’t really have been separated at birth, since Benny Hill was born in 1924, but Marcus Bachmann kept reminding me of somebody — both in looks and homosexual-like mannerisms — but I just couldn’t put my finger on who it was. It finally dawned on me last night — Benny Hill!

Great. Now I’m going to have “Yakkity Sax” stuck in my head for the rest of the day. :-P

Katrina, radicales féministes athées @ #1:
Having the sound stuck in your head isn’t the worst – but the mental picture of Marcus Bachmann being chased around the grounds of his clinic by his patients, to the sound of that music. That’s going to leave scars.

Now I know why I’ve always loathed Benny Hill (other than the scantily clad girlies running around at the end of his show – a staple of my formative years TV viewing)
It’s because the Tao was telling me that Marcus Bachmann* would become a malignly negative influence in my life in the future!
* Not because of himself, but because of his wife, who “submits to her husband in all things, as a good wife should.” Gaak!

I briefly misread Benny Hill as Benny Hinn.

Haha, llewelly. I always misread Benny Hinn as Benny Hill when I’m channel surfing past the religious stations!

This is off the wall, but Marcus looks exactly like Conleth Hill, a British actor who played Jennifer Saunders’ gay husband on The Life and Times of Vivien Vyle. Here’s my proof:

That’s a big link, just google image the dude and be amazed.

Benny was the good twin.
I’ve always had a soft spot for him since he playes a ‘proto-nerd’ in the original Italian Job movie.
AND, when (sometime in the last millenium) I* was a substitute teacher in inner-city Rochester, NY, he was my best teaching aid.

For ‘playes’ read ‘played’ throughout.
Damned lack of editing and even damned-er lack of proof-reading skills

The big difference between the two: Benny Hill proposed to three women (all turned him down, he never married). He may have acted effeminate, but it appears he was quite straight. That would explain that long line of bikini-clad babes chasing him around during the closing credits after every show.
Marcus is probably “cured” into being straight. I expect a scandal at some airport washroom or with some assistant any day now.

Benny Hill may not have been homosexual – but the indications are that he was certainly sexually dysfunctional.

For some reason I’d expected Marcus Bachmann to look more like Ted Nugent or Chuck Norris – he’s entirely too well-coiffed, methinks. I wonder if he has a Ted Haggard moment in his future.
