    I assume you are referring to the tax cuts that left regulatory bodies unable to inspect chemical plants?

    And let’s not forget the regulatory organisations that are supposed to keep mines or oil rigs safe.

    I have always heard the far-right say that regulations are *unnecessary* because companies will do “the right thing” without government oversight because to do otherwise means they will go out of business. That does not seem to be the case in the real world. Blown up neighborhoods and contaminated steroids…

    Somehow we can shut an entire city down for a manhunt when a murderer sets off a bomb, but we can’t fund regulatory bodies to prevent factories from exploding. Or maybe it’s just that Massachusetts values people more than Texas does.
