Can someone explain to me why all of a sudden the “Follow comments on this post by e-mail” checkbox is now default populated on every WordPress blogge that I comment on, and I have to fucken uncheck the goddamn motherfucken box exery time I leave a comment, and if I forget to uncheck it I get a bunch of motherfucken e-mails from WordPress telling me that some fuckeasse commented on that post?
Can I make this stop happening, and default to being unchecked????

Why: Because they’re evil.
How to keep it from annoying you: There’s a box you can check somewhere in your wordpress account that says “never send me emails from blogs” or something like that. Check that box and you will stop getting obnoxious emails.

WordPress loves to do this kind of thing – make unannounced tweaks that turn out to be superlatively annoying and that are hard to disable or change back.

That has been annoying me, too.
It turns out that if I go to the “Blogs I follow” page, and then click on “comments” (near the top of the page), there’s a list of blog posts where I am inadvertently receiving emails, and I am able to delete those entries to stop the email.
