   Bad kerning annoyed me long before I knew what kerning was. So teaching people about this may allow them to better express their irritation, rather than giving them something new about which to be annoyed.

   But I suppose kerning knowledge could be weaponized in such a manner, given the right circumstances. I say go for it. Getting people to notice things is sometimes an effective way of driving them batshit crazy for fun and profit.

   If you need any further incentive, remember that “bad kerning” was at least partly responsible for George W. Bush’s second term.

   Well, technically it was the lack of bad kerning that let GW dodge the legitimate challenges to his TANG service, but close enough :)

   Aaarrgh, indeed. I was a typesetter in another life and I can’t help noticing it (along with typos and ugly fonts etc). Makes reading very herky-jerky sometimes.
