The monstrous Roger Ailes

Read the story of Laurie Luhn, who was abused by Roger Ailes for 20 years. This is a case where someone gave in to the sexual demands of her boss…and all it got her was misery.

And $3 million in hush money.

I suspect Ailes is also getting a substantial cash buyout from Fox News, too.

The mind games and coercion are disgusting as is the hypocrisy of “family values”.

But the arrangement required her to do many things she is now horrified by, including luring young female Fox employees into one-on-one situations with Ailes that Luhn knew could result in harassment.

    Co-conspirator? Enabler? Victim and perpetrator?
Once there’s a crack in the armor, then they poke their heads out and if the coast looks clear they summon the wolf-pack.

Reminds me, I wonder how Cosby’s doing. He had a Renfield, too.

    Did you catch this bit:
Ailes’s star Bill O’Reilly was accused by a Fox producer named Andrea Mackris of engaging in unwanted phone sex with her. O’Reilly settled with her for a reported $10 million

He wouldn’t have settled for a figure like that unless he knew that a trial would blow his world apart.

I hope Gretchen Carlson cleans him out of it.

Watch out for fuckers trying to slide across the finish line of life before they get caught. It’s why we fantaize that there’s a hell, but we secularists know they got clean away with it. So the thing to do is make sure they suck deep of the draught of shit during what remains of their life on earth.

Marcus — Good point. Now we know just how sleazy BO’R is.

You have to wonder where the Murdoch clan was while all this abuse was going on…for 20 years. They didn’t know about it? Baloney! If Ailes and O’Reilly were exploiting their coworkers, it’s easy to imagine that the king and his little princes were knee deep in the muck themselves.

No surprise at all. Fox News is always sleazily parading these women around, probably mostly to get ratings; but if the network is treating them as sex objects, so would the network boss.

  7. lotharloo says

There is no way Murdochs did not know or any of the other assholes like O’reilly did not know. Fuck all of them.

Honestly, if Murdoch didn’t care about his reporters hacking phones, he sure as hell wouldn’t care about his sleaze ball meat puppets’ antics.

  9. blf says

If my recollection is correct, Moardough rehired relatively recently one of the main players / high-ranking muckity-mucks (editor?) involved in the phone hacking: “Doesn’t care” would seem to be putting it mildly.
(Apologies for being rather vague here, I should be leaving now-ish…)

I don’t think O’Reilly’s “they want me dead” claim from the other night was actually aimed at liberals; instead I think it was at people on his own network. Billo’s had Big Daddy Ailes keeping him safe and at the top spot so far, but now that’s going away he’s alone and scared. Grover Dill is nothing without a Scut Farkis.

Re: @ 12, It makes me think of a weaker school bully who is a hanger-on in the entourage of a bigger bully, and suddenly the big bully gets expelled or arrested. The weaker bully has an “Oh, shit!” moment when he realises his protection is gone…

  12. Ice Swimmer says

From the writings of the Fox News mole, one gets the Impression that Bill O’Reilly is a horrible bully in all ways and often at odds with Fox news VPs because he hates any and all interference to his work.

  13. Meg Thornton says

The Murdoch clan (or to be more accurate, Big Daddy Rupert, who basically controls the rest of them via the purse-strings) doesn’t care about anything so long as they can make money out of it. You wonder why the Murdoch media are getting more apocalyptic and “end of days” in tone lately? It’s because Daddy Rupert has passed the “break-even” point between his father’s age of death and his mother’s (67 and 101, respectively), and he knows every year after this is a gift. The “end of days” which is approaching is Rupert Murdoch’s personal one, and he knows he can’t buy his way out of it. So he’s trying for “apres nous le deluge” and wants to see whether he can’t take the rest of us down with him.

After all, as far as Rupert Murdoch is concerned, the end of his personal world SHOULD be the end of everyone else’s. Otherwise it isn’t fair.
