But what about the House of Atheism? Things were going so well. Now such a divisive choice, tsk, tsk.

Finally something to feel good about. I spent the last 8 hours watching “the parking lot movie” twice, “rent”, and “patch Adams” and crying throughout. This has been a tough week, and I suppose it will only get worse in the next few months.

It’s a surprise, a relief, and a pleasure to hear about this. Thanks for the news flash. Does this mean that atheists can be feminist now? Holy Cow! I needed something like this after having sat through Trump’s entire speech. Been watching the RNC via The Young Turks, followed by Bill Maher. Later I pick up Stephen Colbert on YT. Yes, I have no life. But Trump was so much worse than I could have imagined. Tony Schwartz is right – he’s a pure sociopath. So you can see why this unfurrows my brow a bit.

A surprise! Aaron Ra is a terrific choice. And I love the photo of ‘Lucy’ enthroned on his webpage.

I’m not sure what happened with Melissa Pugh, the AAA president he’s replacing, but I admired her and wish her well.

Not The American Alliance of Atheists or American Atheist Alliance?

    Splitters!

Arron Ra?! He’s a decent human being! Are we sure he’s Atheist Leadership material?

    Who’s Arron?

I thought we were talking about Aron Ra, the former Texas state director of the American Atheists …

Also known for being one of the guys standing up to the Texas Board of Edumacation.

Incidentally, given how the press loves titles like the four horsemen, I’d like to point out that he’s officially one third of the Unholy Trinity (the others being Matt Dillahunty and Seth Andrews … interesting, I see that it has also been applied to Dawkins/Hitchens/Harris, but I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere but just right now in Wikipedia).

I don’t think I need to mention the Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism, but do you know about the videos about biology he makes with his wife that conform to the (Texas?) state standards, so you can use them in school if you want to avoid Creationism-influenced textbooks that distort or lie about Evolution?

Orly? Fucking sweet. Aron Ra is one of my favorite people in the movement, as far as I know impeccable ethical standard, and really quite knowledgeable in his domains of expertise. I love the guy. Could not have happened to a better person IMHO (only a slight exaggeration).
