Not seeing any of that scary gay spore contamination happening up here in the Great White North and it’s been 10 years or so since we started letting them have equal rights. Must be the long cold winters killing the spores.

Thanks for linking to this piece … have to admit, that’s “some satire, keen and critical.”

@JohnnieCanuck #3. Oh, I suspect we’re all immune, having been inoculated by gayness all our lives; soldiers with little blue helmets, funny rules in football, and being related (by association, at least) with those cheese-eating surrender monkeys, the French.

It fascinates me to see all those people wailing about all the horrible things that are going to happen now that the country doesn’t discrimiante against same-sex couples. It fascinates me because like JohnnieCanuck said, there are places like Canada and Spain, where we did this shit 10 years ago…and our equivalent to the republican, religious, hate-filled assholes, also whined and prophetisized the end of days…and yet….fuck all happened, except more people being happy and our societies being better off than they were before.
It’s amazing that so many people are completely ignorant of the fact that this shit has been done before, and nothing but good things have come off it. They literally treat this as if america had just invented the concept of marriage equality and noone in the planet knows what’s going to happen next.

What YOB said. Besides, we’re the only ones who have to live up to the standards of American Exceptionalism. You aren’t Gawd’s special project, and don’t understand what it’s like to work under that kind of pressure.

Cheese, as you know, is covered with bacteria from the Penicillium genus, which protects us against disease.

It also inoculates us against violence and bigotry. It’s not perfect protection of course, but with herd immunity we can generally keep outbreaks under control.

Same discussion in France, too. Luckily, the bulk of the population took the religious nuts to be nuts — thank goodness for the republican traditions there. If only republicans in the US weren’t the polar opposite of republicans in France.

I don’t get it. He talks about how the crops all dried up, but he’s standing in a field of perfectly green & healthy corn. Must be too subtle for me.
