A reminder: I’ll be off to Traverse City, Michigan to speak to the Grand Traverse Humanists in the evening. It’s free! Come on out! I’m going to talk about bad biology!
You’re always talking about bad biology! When do we get to hear about some of the good stuff?
dicksays
There’s no such thing as bad biology, just bad biologists. Of course, from a right-wing, religious perspective……
slithey tove (twas brillig (stevem))says
Bad applications of biology. (read the emboldened tacitly).
I’ll assume is how PZ said that pair of words.
I missed the site targeted. All I think of Mich is DETROIT, and that it has an extra finger above it, the U.P. (that finger [pun] over Michigan’s mitten, is from Minn [another pun]. oh the irony).
slithey tove (twas brillig (stevem))says
oops, errata. that finger over the mitt is from Wisc, not Minn. I should check GoogleMaps before I make a geograph fool of myself again. aarrrrgggghhhh
You know, being who I am, and living where I do, seeing a number plate with that on it would be really exciting. I mean, just how often do you get to spot a professional kazoo player in the wild?
slithey tove (twas brillig (stevem))says
looks like the Convention was ineffective, based on this recent news story:
On Wednesday, the Michigan legislature passed three bills that would let publicly funded adoption agencies refuse to place children with same-sex parents if the agencies object on religious grounds.
So Michigan ain’t too humanist after all. eh? whoodathunkit?
slithey tove (twas brillig (stevem))says

sorry I was clear about the date that Wednesday referred to. Could be either 6/3 or 6/10. either way, it seems the conference is too late to make a difference.
if wishes were real Michigan would join the present day.

typyis: dropped the not from that line about “was clear…”

I’m going to use the bad biology as an excuse to discuss the good biology that refutes it.

Hi PZ – if we had known about this earlier, we might have made plans to drive up. Do you publish your calendar anywhere?
