embertine@13: I think her relationship with her commentariat was a little contentious. I know there was some flap over her posting some comics a few months ago. There’s just something about the military atheist blogs that they don’t seem to stick here. Assassin Actual fell off the planet. Rock Beyond Belief thanked FTB in their goodbye post, but then showed their true colors by cowardly burying a big, dramatic fuck you to FTB (especially PZ cuz he wasn’t vewwy nice to Justin Gwiffith) about ten miles below the fold of their intro post at Patheos, and now Chris Rodda is gone without a word, too.
Has anyone been able to figure out commenting on Jen’s site? You need to log in to do so, but there’s no visible place to create an account to log in with.
@14: Well, I think one of the issues is that the Military Freedom From Religion organization isn’t atheist. It’s secular. And Mikey Weinstein specifically declares himself to be Jewish.
The last post was about them sending a letter to Faux News declaring that it’s an act of defamation to call them an atheist group.
I’m thinking it wasn’t a good fit.
Too bad about This Week in Christian Nationalism. It was interesting to learn about the struggles for a constitutional military. And I’ve rarely seen as successful a demolition as what Chris did to David Barton — she pretty much destroyed his credibility on every possible level, thoroughly and with a thousand times the attention to detail that he ever showed.
I’ve missed Jen’s blogging, I hope the host issues are worked out so she can get her ideas out once again!
There’s also the fact that FTB is, broadly speaking, feminist, and military culture largely tends to live and breathe Toxic Masculinity….
