Stop the madness!

Noooo…now I discover a book, The Phrenology of Barack Obama by Bensa Magos.

In his newest book, The Phrenology of Barack Obama, author Bensa Magos returns to reveal the secrets behind the occulted past of President Barack Obama using the pseudo-science of phrenology. Magos uncovers natural, unnatural, and preternatural features of “Manchurian Candidate” Obama’s cranium and brainpan, including the mysterious “head scar” which the mass media refuses to discuss. Causes for the head scar range from CIA brain-implants to a partial lobotomy by his puppet master handlers, as well as the most shocking revelation: that Obama once had a horn. Magos follows a trail of evidence that leads from Obama’s brain surgery and dehorning, to government Mind Control programs like MKULTRA and MONARCH with roots in the Na zi Occult, and ultimately to the satanic endgame revealed by the Demon Horn of Moloch.

The engines canna take it any more. I think I’ll go tend to my fish for a while. They are much more sensible than you humans.

So he can’t make up his mind whether Obama is a demon from the pits of hell or just a lobotomized, mind-controlled puppet? I guess phrenology is an inexact science.

A careful study using non occult practices reveals that Bensa Magos is an Übercrackpot. A treatment with Retrophrenology is indicated.

The first thing I saw upon opening Pharyngula to read this post was “Part Neanderthal? Probably!” (A 23 and Me ad.) I was still chuckling when I finished reading this post and scrolled down to see that the previous one had the word Neanderthal prominently featured. Good old Google. Good old crackpots!

Hi Trebuchet, the ad I’m getting is pretty hilarious: ‘Stop Electronic Harassment’ (Does Google Ads know I’m one of the Block Bot admins?)

It gets way better: Get protection from Psychotronic and Psychic Attacks, Mind Control V2K, and HAARP

The product appears to be a black box rather than a tinfoil hat. I am disappoint.

I didn’t think I would run across anyone else today who would match Michael Bradley from the OP of the last thread for delusional, crackpot conspiracy theorising, but within a matter of minutes PZ digs up this… err… ‘gem’.

So, does Bensa Magos make up her mind? Does she decide that Obama is a lobotomised drone, a brain implant controlled CIA stooge, or full on hellspawn?

Personally, I am a little disappointed that she didn’t complete the set and claim that he is either the vicitim of alien abduction in order to put a pawn of the ‘Greys’ in the oval office, or that he is an actual lizard person from Alpha Centurai…

I mean, hasn’t she watched any episodes of the X-Files? It was the obvious way to go.

Yeah, that’s the part that baffles me the most.

Pz, I don’t know how to send you an email

Right next to your comment, there’s a box in the sidebar. Between the photos of PZ and his book, it says “PZ Myers is a biologist and associate professor at the University of Minnesota, Morris”; and “PZ Myers” is a link to his e-mail address.

But what I really don’t get is what your point is. If not all victims of sexual abuse are traumatized for the rest of their lives, what does that change? The cause for all the rage never was that Dawkins says he wasn’t harmed; it’s that he heavily implied nobody is ever harmed by it.

Seriously… I strongly recommend you never again add to a thread when you haven’t read all of it. Anywhere. Even on fucking YouTube.

This nutter seems to have written at least two other books. The latest one is Antichrist 2012: The Baraq-U-Bamah and the Coming Apocalypse, and is described as:

Can we be living in the last days of the Earth? Is there a living Antichrist toiling to subjugate humanity and usher in a hellish new age of enslavement? What is the Mayan Prophecy of 2012? What is the relation of Barrack Hussein Obama to the adversary known as the Baraq-U-Bamah, the Satan that is called the Lightning from Heaven? Author Bensa Magos armed with his extensive knowledge of the occult forces at play pierces through the veils of deception and obfuscation truly at work in the world today, in which Arhimanic and Luciferic forces increasingly encroach upon an ever-secularized world, to get to the truth behind the demonic plans of the Baraq-U-Bamah. This work will exposes the connection linking the Baraq-U-Bamah to Barrack Hussein Obama through an integrated study of the Mayan 2012 Apocalypse with the Antichrist from Biblical Revelation.

An earlier (2007) book The Moons of The Planets, is described as “a guide to using the plantery [sic] moons in our solar system in astrology and horoscopes.”

Another fruitcake, perhaps with a bit of extra loopyness.

To put this into perspective, phrenology would decree me an egghead. Lovecraft and F Scott Fitzgerald would call me a mongoloid. But my head is a hard-boiled egg, one that Terry Pratchett would find acceptable. And that, folks, is just as believable as what Magos is saying. Only, Pratchett would make jokes about it, Lovecraft and F Scott Fitzgerald. And my head indeed is egg-shaped.*

    * Yes, I’m bitter about the head, but more disturbed by the idiocy rampant in ‘literary’ circles. Har-de-har. Next, we’ll be examining how Bill O’Reilly’s face is actually the image on burnt toast.

Hum… I suspect phrenology would have to invent a whole category for me, something like komkat, squashed, with traces of hedgehog, and what is either yeti farts in a snail-fur coat, or two strawberries connected by a wormhole. Which is bit insulting, as that leaves out Stonehenge.

including the mysterious “head scar” which the mass media refuses to discuss.

Bubba Ho-Tep is playing in my head:

JFK: That’s where they took a piece of my brain. They got it back in D.C. in that God damn jar.

Elvis: But Jack uhh, no offense but

    [pause]

Elvis: President Kennedy was a white man.

JFK: That’s how clever they are. They dyed me this color, all over. can you think of a better way to hide the truth than that?

I kinda think that this book is a joke. It’s the ‘pseudoscience’ of phrenology. Plus he uncovers ‘natural, unnatural, and preternatural ‘ features.

Hard to tell sometimes, of course.

  27. 27

    CaitieCat @23

    Maybe they meant “rectophrenology”?

Phrenology is the study of bumps on the head. Bumps in certain locations have meaning. This chart shows which areas of the head control which attitributes of the personality. But what if you were lacking in a desired attribute? A retrophrenologist could, by suitable application of a striking implement (commonly called a “hammer”), give you a lump in the appropriate area, thereby improving that attribute.

  28. 28
    Inaji

    Al Dente @ 27:

Pssssssssssssssssst, CaitieCat was making a joke.

As for Retrophrenology, naturally, Terry Pratchett had that covered some time ago, in Men at Arms:

You can go into a shop in Ankh-Morpork and order an artistic temperament with a tendency to introspection. What you actually get is hit on the head with a large hammer, but it keeps the money in circulation and gives people something to do .

I am not really this smart. I am faking it!!

Easier to do than most people think. I find that people think I’m a lot smarter than I really am, simply because I tend to shut up unless I’m sure I know what I’m talking about. Seeming smart is a lot less about saying smart things than it is about not saying stupid things. If you say one smart thing and otherwise keep quiet, people will think you’re smart all the time.

I guess it has to do with how people extrapolate from the available information. I.e. if you say something smart, they extrapolate to “smart person”, but being quiet doesn’t stick in the memory, so people easily forget to take into account all the times you kept your trap shut.

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.”

One of my favourite quotes; but no one really knows where it comes from. It has variously been attributed to Mark twain and to Abraham Lincoln, but these appear to be paraphrases of an earlier quote. QI thinks Maurice Switzer is the most likely origin of the quote, who may have based it on Proverbs 17:28.
