Yes, that’s exactly what it was like

Hey, how about some cheerful news from a con? Skepchick has put up an acknowledgment of all their collaborators at SkepchickCon, and it’s illustrated. Here’s my family, and it’s true, we look exactly like this.

If you weren’t there, you missed out. But we’ll be back on 3 July in Bloomington.

  1. Nerd of Redhead, Dances OM Trolls says

Your beard, PZ. Where is your beard!

Also, no tweed/corduroy jacket with elbow patches. A must for all mild mannered professors.

  2. says

I created the HeroMachine program used to create the images and I can’t even say how tickled I am to see them on my favorite sites. So cool!

  3. says

I still feel a bit dismayed about how much some women have had to suffer in the community for just wanting to do skepticism too. It’s disheartening.

  4. says

Reading the actual post, I don’t see that PZ got any mention at all: the first one is credited to just Mary.

It looks like our host has been relegated to being a non-humanoid background character.

  5. Artor says

Sorry PZ, but that doesn’t look much like you. Your tentacles are a bit flabbier. Just sayin’.

  6. dianne says

I have to say Connlann is the only one who really takes after you in looks. I guess legs are a dominant gene over tentacles. Who knew?

  7. Rey Fox says

What kind of comic book is this? I can barely see any skin on those ladies! And they need to be posed more dynamically but with all their parts still facing the viewer!
