At first glance, I thought it was an epiploon or omentum, but no, it’s a lovely octopus mother tending her brood. Go hug your mom right now, or if she’s not nearby, hug a mollusc instead.

To me one of the saddest things in nature is how short their lives are.
They’d be our masters if they lived longer.
I, for one, would welcome our cephalopod mothers…er… masters.
My mother has been gone these last 8 years. I miss her. I have no mollusc nearby so I’ll settle for hugging her memory, as there is regrettably no afterlife for her to be happy in.
The nearest molluscs to me right now are snails and I rather doubt they’d appreciate that!
Good thought though I guess.
