One of the things I like about you PZ is that you remind us it’s Monday when it’s almost over. That way we don’t have to spend the entire day thinking it’s Monday.
Thanks!

I feel sad that many Monarch flutterbys will die in Texas because of the drought as they head to their Mexico winter ground.
Re Samantha’s @5: We’re getting reports of decent monarch numbers in various places up here around SF Bay, too. What a relief, after a string of really crappy years!

I’ve grown that kind of flower, and monarchs do love it. It’s called a “Mexican Torch Sunflower”, available from Baker Creek Heirloom seeds.
I hardly recognize you from your childhood pictures.
Well actually, I just don’t.

At least one died in Santa Barbara.
The Santa Cruz monarchs are thriving this season.
Orange is my favorite color.
Wish there were orange flowers around here.
How about Pink?

Just FYI if you want to recreate the scene.
