While the Pope may want the entire world to be Catholic, he is hardly calling for a holy war against every other religion. Islam is a political ideology that NEEDS to wage war. Whether against it’s own people or against sects that don’t exactly believe the “correct” version, it requires war and hatred to survive. I know of no other “religion” that feels that the people that God has placed on this earth, should be removed by “faithful” “believers.” Society has a responsibility to remove murderers from its midsts. However, to put a rope around their necks and strangle them to death while they suffer, is that Gods will? Let them rot in jail until they die. A public display of hatred has only one purpose, to signal to the citizens of the state that their government is willing to kill anyone to stay in power. End this practice and you take away that power.
