Fischer talks about "love for gays"

If you know anything about Bryan Fischer, you probably have a good guess exactly what he’s going to say before he even opens his gob.

Pro tip: this ain’t love. It’s barely-contained seething hatred with a thin veneer of Christian brotherly love spray-painted on it. And since we already know that brand of love is anything but love, but rather a demand for conformity to rules written by goat-herds thousands of years ago, it doesn’t even register on the “worthy discourse” scale. I only add it to my blog in the interest of reminding everyone just how hateful a human being this man is.

We’re finally tired of being told in the name of tolerance that we just have to put up with that.

Get used to it Sunshine, ‘cos you’re just gonna have to put up with it.

Hey Fischer, if you don’t want to tolerate gays then why don’t you move to Nigeria or Russia? Your homophobia will fit right in with the official homophobia.

I have to admit, if the Bible was written by herds of goats thousands of years ago, it probably would have made more sense than it does now.

    written by goat-herds

    The dash is the problem.

With or without a hyphen, how about dropping the goatherd trope? It’s pretty hackneyed. Would it have been any better if the authors of the Bible had been herding cattle, growing wheat, making pots or (as in fact they almost certainly were) members of a leisured elite living off the labours of the peasantry and artisans?

    To Nick Gotts:
I shall misquote Sir Terry Pratchett. Christianity must have been created by tribes of herders of sheep, because goats are intelligent, and must be led, while sheep must be driven.

Considering all of the homophobia I’ve been subjected to in my life, when what they would have meant was transphobia if they hadn’t been so stupid (in addition to reams of transphobia), and given I always get triggered by these sorts of articles/videos, I’m going to have to pass on this one. It is good however that you and other bloggers here are taking this Fischer person to task for this bigotry.
