October is GLBT History Month

In the style of other minority group History Months, October is GLBT History Month, documenting 31 influential gay / lesbian / bisexual / transsexual icons, one a day. I can’t wait until the 16th — Rachel Maddow is one of my heroes.

Today’s entry is composer John Cage, whose blockquote is great:

“I can’t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I’m frightened of the old ones.”

I couldn’t agree more. Conservatism is the perpetual longing for the “good old days” as they never were.
