Hi! I'm a tech guy, skeptic, feminist, gamer and atheist, and love OSS and science of all stripes. I enjoy a good bit of whargarbl now and again, and will occasionally even seek it out. I am also apparently responsible for the death of common sense on the internet. My bad.

The commenting rules are simple: don't piss me off. This rule has worked for me for a decade; I have never found a need for any other rule, because any other rules leads to rules-lawyering. Just remember -- this is my property, not yours.

    Ahh, where was that guy, when the internets stopped working for me??? Was fucked for hours, until I finally figured out that I had accidentally switched off the wireless switch…

    The internets were MISSING!!!!!

    I once called tech support to find out if there were any outages in my area because my modem lights weren’t coming on. At that time, I had no idea cable modems had a suspend button. The cat had walked across the top and depressed it. When they said there were no issues, I declined troubleshooting saying I’d do it myself. Saved myself a bit of embarassment.
