For no reason, and in no particular order: here are a bunch of pictures of our cats.
And now, for a stupid cat-themed song parody (here’s the original):
Your kitties ain’t sweet like mine
They eat the venison all of the time
And when I’m feeling lonesome and blue
My kitties know just what to do
They even walk on the telly
They even let me scratch their belly
We’d never put our kitties outdoors
Even when they shed all over our clothes
Don’t want to brag, just want to put you in line
Your kitties ain’t sweet like mine, no no
Your kitties ain’t sweet like mine

They’re not exactly kittens anymore, are they? I always love watching kittens become cats. Some of the squee goes away, but they become elegant, graceful creatures.

My cat-pile is bigger than your cat pile …

Our cats really DO eat venison. Special (and expensive) food for a skin problem.
Houdini is just adorably asymmetrical!

Its wonderful to see moggies who are so social with each other. I’ve lived with two cats who met as adults and spent about five years each pretending the other didn’t exist.

Signs I may finally be growing up:
Thought 1) Aww, look at the cute kitties!
Thought 2) OMG, that flooring in the 2nd-last photo is gorgeous. I wonder how it was treated to come up that colour?
Thought 3) … What the fuck was that?

Daniel Schealler: I grew up in a house with floors like that. It was built in the early fifties, just red oak and varnish. We see so much bamboo, veneer and synthetic crap these days we forget what real wood looks like.

I love, love, love that 2nd picture! There is something overwhelmingly beautiful about cats in profile. The lines of their bodies are just exquisite, and so regal. Profile pictures of cats are always my favorites.

Nice pussies… But I prefer Greta’s pussy:

BTW, not trying to disrespect you, Greta… I just think you have a beautiful body and should be proud of it.

Savannah (Serval x domestic hyrids – he’s an F1).
He’s a combination of stripy and spotted.

This is his bitty buddy, a normal 9-pound cat, who has figured out how to use his height against him.

@9 – That’s plain red oak tongue and groove flooring.
It starts out a pale reddish-brown to light yellow, then darkens and gets redder as it ages in sunlight.

Is that Talisker in the second photo, looking all regal and poised? She’s beautiful, whichever one she is.

Alyson, according to the image hovertext, it’s Comet.
Every time I see Houdini face-on, I think of Phantom of the Opera (You can insert your own ‘Music of the Night’ joke here).
