In the midst of the discussion about misogyny in the atheist/ skeptical movement, one comment thread has turned to the question of women who could be considered horsewomen of the feminist skeptical apocalypse… and which My Little Pony character they’d be riding into battle astride.
embertine decided to draw them.
And I’m one of them! Wielding a whip, and riding Rainbow Dash.
I love it. Have a few fashion issues with the harlequin tights — I doubt highly that I’d wear them, they’re definitely not age-appropriate — but the whip more than makes up for it. And I love how fierce Rainbow Dash looks. Be sure to check out the rest.
Oh, and for the record: This is actually the second time I have been drawn with a My Little Pony theme.
Oh, and for the record: I love the Internet.
NOOOOO ARGYLE TIGHTS 4EVA
(I’m 33, and not at all ready to give mine up)
I guess that makes you about 20% cooler than the other horsewomen.
Sorry you had to get saddled (*snicker*) with second best pony, but rock on nonetheless.
Yaaahhhh finally. I am getting so sick of all the publicity given to the four horsemen (and many other men in this movement) when I can find so many women in this movement that rival these males and IMO have a perspective that I find so much more enlightening. So happy this idea was acted upon :DDD
I’m not fashion expert, but I would say that harlequin tights are appropriate for the age of any woman who is riding on a blue rainbow pony with wings.
In future, I shall make the boots and the skirt longer. But I make no guarantees not to include colourful tights.
Sastra @ #5: Good point. These can be my special Pony-Riding Fightin’ Tights. Made of Kevlar.
Well as long as we’re on foot and legwear – I was kind of wishing Rebecca’s boots were yellow Keds. I thought her blue bangs and yellow Keds were very vibrant at the W i S reception.
