Atheist Meme of the Day: Religious Claims Are Fair Game

Scarlet letter Today’s Atheist Meme of the Day. Pass this on; or don’t; or edit it as you see fit; or make up your own. Enjoy!

Religion either makes claims about the world, or it doesn’t. When it does, it’s reasonable to expect those claims to stand up to questions and criticism, and to be supported with good, hard evidence. When it doesn’t, it’s irrelevant: in any practical sense, it’s indistinguishable from non-belief. Pass it on: if we say …it enough times to enough people, it may get across.

I don’t comment on these much, because I feel silly cheering “Say it, sister!” too often, but I’d like to assure you that these memes are appreciated.

  2. Salix says

I have a friend who states that “religion is symbolic” and so doesn’t need to be challenged and this meme sums up all that I was trying to get her to understand. It ain’t symbolic when it influences policy. I like my reality like I like my coffee– straight and without sweeteners.
