Greta: Keynote Speaker at Secular Student Alliance Conference!

Secular student alliance logo Am looking over my blog, and realizing I somehow forgot to announce this earlier. D’oh! I’m going to be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Secular Student Alliance Annual Conference, being held next week in Columbus, Ohio.

You heard me right — the freaking keynote speaker.

The conference is being held July 23-25, at Ohio State University. Registration is still available, and dorm housing is both available and super-cheap. Other speakers include Hemant Mehta of Friendly Atheist fame, Jen McCreight of Blag Hag and Boobquake fame, Skepticon host JT Eberhard, and more. I’m going to be giving the full- length, expanded disco version of my talk on What Atheists Can Learn From the LGBT Movement. Summary: The atheist movement is already modeling itself on the LGBT movement in many ways — most obviously with its focus on coming out of the closet. What else can the atheist movement learn from the LGBT movement… both from its successes and its failures? I’ll be speaking on Saturday evening, July 24, at 8:30 pm.

As the keynote speaker.

Did I mention that part?

Li’l ol’ me, blogging in my pajamas.

Atheist blogging is awesome.

That’s the best with blogging, isn’t it? That you can do it in your pajamas :-)
Congratulations! Please let us know if you hear of someone taping it.

  2. says

I’m so excited to see you again! You can’t get over being the keynote, and I can’t get over people listing me when they advertise ;)

  3. says

They’re lucky to have you – I just hope you’re speaking at something I can attend next time I’m in California. Congratulations!

Is there a standard, reliable way of finding recordings of these things to listen to?
It’s not that I want to have my cake and eat too (well, not entirely): I’d buy a ticket and go, but 3000 miles of salt water is a significant obstacle. Swimming that much leaves me tired and cranky.

Prospeke International, Professional speaker agency and bureau. Our business speakers are professionals in their field, delivering after dinner, keynote, workshop and conference presentations that are motivational, thought-provoking and educational for any event.

Spam spam spam, wonderful spam… I’d like to say that I’m impressed that the topicality algorithms of the spam bots are improving, but actually it’s just kind of disappointing that even when they’re on subject, the spambots are still annoyingly irrelevant and obvious.
Come on, y’all, step it up a notch: get the spam bots advanced enough that they can write as well as a typical Internet drive-by commentator! It’s not a high bar to reach.

Oh, also: congrats on the keynote speakership, Greta! I’m sure that butts will be kicked, and names taken.
