OHAI! I’m Back!

I’ve returned from my brief blogcation, my darlings! Sorry about that hiatus. I got to writing stuff by hand and suddenly felt like not touching a computer at all. Hence, no posts.

Image shows a gray and white cat with huge sunglasses on. Caption says, "Another Pina Colada plz, and teh pool boy's phone #."

If you follow me on Facebook, you know I’ve been productive, though! I’ve written several installments in our Escape review and a couple of ACE posts for our Adventures in Christianist Earth Science Education series. I’m a third of the way through our next Really Terrible Bible Stories volume. I’ve at least busted out the notes for our next Cataclysm post, and will write that up as soon as my brain stops cowering at the complexity of it. (Seriously, brain, it’s not that bad!)

I also wrote some fiction, and daydreamed about my story world a lot, and then took an actual day off in which I didn’t write anything more than a few Facebook status updates. Misha and I cuddled, napped, and read a lovely sporking of the third Fifty Shades of Shit book. We caught up on other book recaps, too. And napped. Did I mention the napping?

It’s been lovely.

I’ve collected together all of your suggestions, and will be doing as much with them as I can over the coming year. We’ll see how things shake out, but I may reduce the posting schedule to give myself more time for the geology so many of you are craving. I’ll definitely be doing some planetary geology this year, and I’ve had plans to do the glacial geology of the PNW (including the Missoula Floods) for some time. Hopefully I can get a bit posted on those topics this year, but my main focus is going to be on finishing the Mount St. Helens eruption and west side guide.

I’ll definitely be talking more about the process of writing, so those of you who asked for that will be delighted!

We’ll continue to have various mysteries from here and there (mostly here). Feel free to submit flora, birds, fungi, and other such goodies. It would be nice to make things a wee bit less PNW oriented. And I love getting photos from you! Feel free to submit geology that has made you squee as well. You could even end up on Scientific American! I’ll be doing more stuff over there that isn’t PNW-oriented, so material will always be welcome.

And I hope everyone does love RTBS, because I’ll be continuing on with that series. It’s the kind of writing I can do even when my brain is utterly exhausted and refuses to engage with the majority of the work it’s supposed to be doing. So expect me to continue burning through the Old Testament without mercy this year. I’ll have some other book reviews up when I’ve got time to read books (lol), and I’ve already started collecting titles for next fall’s Super Gargantuan Book Guides. If you read anything astounding, please do let me know about it!

Thank you for your suggestions, your patience, and your continued support. I couldn’t do this without you, my darlings!
