New at Rosetta Stones: Moar Scablands Magnificence! Plus, a Robin Reprise Right Here

I’m back. I’m so damn tired. Misha doesn’t seemed to have missed me, except she couldn’t open her tuna cans her own self, so that’s the first and only thing she wanted. But she’s alive! I’m so happy.

B and I didn’t do all we wished, but we did lots today! We saw awesome great things. You can see some peeks here. And guess what? An American Robin was kindly enough to pose at Summer Falls so that you could have a robin reprise. I think it appreciates you being able to identify its compadre.

Image shows Summer Falls plunging over the lip of a basalt cliff. If you look very closely, there's a robin sitting on the stone fence post in the foreground.
Summer Falls avec Robin.

It’s there on the center post. Here, I’ll give you a cropped image, so you can see it betters.

Image shows the robin, the top of the stone post, and the blue water behind.
Robin against water.

Rather lovely, that red-0range breast against the blue water, innit? My darlings, we saw so many birds, you would not believe. I got lots, so we’re good on UFDs for the moment. I could’ve spent most of my life over there photographing birds for you. And I’ve got a ton of beauteous flowers, and mysterious metazoans, and so much gorgeous geology. Good thing I have that horrible creationist conspiracy Grand Coulee book to critique, so we can have a whole theme going and laugh at our creationists, too! Not sure precisely when I’ll get to it, as we’ve got a Mount St. Helens trip coming up, I have to finish the background research, and things around home are rather fraught at the moment, but it will be as soon as I can possibly manage.

More after I have actually slept…

Pretty! Both the falls and the bird. Glad you’re home, glad Misha’s demanding TREATS SUSTENANCE, looking forward to all that unidentified stuff!! And of course the identified stuff, too. :)
