Our Escape Review Starts Thursday

I’m doing an in-depth review of Escape by Carolyn Jessop. The first post is going up on Thursday, so if you were wanting to follow along, be sure to get your copy now. You can find my overview here.

Brace yourselves, my darlings. This is a harrowing tale. And it’s going to make us ask some pretty tough questions as we go along. There’s some graphic abuse, so all the trigger warnings for all the things. Hopefully, if you’ve been following our Christianist Ed series, you’ve already got a good setup for safe rage-reading. And I’ll provide cute baby animals doing cute baby animal things if that will help. Submissions welcome!

Image is the cover of Escape, which is photo of Carolyn Jessop on a black background. She cradles a framed picture of herself as an FLDS teenager in her hands. She is a woman in her thirties with chestnut hair and blue eyes.

In other updates: thee shall have some gorgeous images of Snoqualmie Falls from river level this week as long as nothing goes awry. There will even soon be volcanoes for those hankering for them! B and I are visiting Mount St. Helens as soon as we get a break in the weather, so we’ll bring you back lovely photos. Hopefully, I’ll have time to get to our Large Igneous Provinces soon, too. And at long last, you’ll have the follow-up to our fool’s gold post. It doesn’t have volcanoes, but I think you’ll enjoy it anyway.

Wait, visiting MSH as soon as we get a break in the weather? It’s been warm and sunny for days now. Or maybe you need it to cool down? Looking forward to those posts!!

How about young Avy when she was 6 weeks old (she was taken from mom MUCH too early), playing Guild Wars 2? Not sure how to send it to you.

You take nice photos, though. I might borrow some of those above. They are very cool, Bible text and all.

You know it just occurred to me that we should get those picts on buses and such. They can’t very well claim they would be offensive to religious people–it quotes their own holy book.

I know! We were gonna go, but we’re waiting for Patty’s Place to open. Then it got mucky again. Sigh. We should be gallivanting to Grand Coulee this week – I’m visiting some of the places in that gawd-awful book you sent me to critique. And then with luck MSH the week after.

Excellent! I love the Coulee, we need to go over and visit my wife’s relatives again. And looking forward to more MSH.
How about that thunderstorm yesterday? Wow. We don’t often get those in these parts.
