New at Rosetta Stones: The Final (and Most Delicious) Stop in the Mount St. Helens Field Trip

It took us a while to get there, but we’re at the last stop on our Mount St. Helens field trip. Come hungry, leave stuffed full of unimaginable bliss. Also: the mystery of the battered truck in front of Patty’s Place has been solved at last. Huzzah!

You did that thing again, with the food and the cobbler. You did it last time, too. No fair!!
That truck doesn’t look like it wants to go anywhere anymore – plus, it’s grown itself a nice fir through the back, just to make sure. I think it needs to ponder your MSH post on trees…

I’m hungry now for some reason.

That truck is a good reminder of how fortunate it was that the eruption was on a Sunday, when many fewer people were working around the mountain. And that it didn’t happen an hour or two later, when property owners were scheduled to be up there retrieving their belongings.

I still feel bad about Harry Truman’s cats.

Me thinks it’s time to take another trip down to the mountain this summer! It’s always such a sentimental journey.

I will definitely be making a stop at Patty’s Place. What a find!
