Root Claims Massive Voter Fraud

Wayne Allen Root, a birther and major conspiracy monger who was once the vice presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party, put out a video commentary a few weeks ago claiming that Obama only won in 2012 because “Democratic voters across this country are voting four times, five times, 10 times each for the Democrats.” His only support for this is the ridiculous myth about voting in Philadelphia, which has been debunked even by True the Vote, the anti-voter fraud group.

FL Purge Declared Illegal. Again.

Rick Scott’s 2012 voter purge, which was so blatantly illegal and the lists so inaccurate that even Republican county clerks in the state refused to go along with it, has been declared illegal (PDF) by a federal appeals court. The DOJ said at the time it was illegal and they’ve now been vindicated. The National Voter Registration Act could not be more clear:

Abbott’s Anti-Voting Rights Crusade

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, likely the next governor of that state, has been on a crusade against the “epidemic” of voter fraud, pushing a voter ID law and other measures, to stop it. But his office can only come up with a grand total of six cases in the last 13 years, two of which might have been prevented by voter ID.

O’Keefe’s Latest Bit of Stupid

The ongoing shitshow that is perpetual frat boy James O’Keefe continues to emit staggering amounts of idiocy. His latest undercover video, in which he dresses up as a hunter (I guess the pimp outfit was at the cleaners), has him asking a Republican congressman about an amendment he sponsored to the Voting Rights Act that “excludes white people.”
