Apparently laboring under the delusion that their country isn’t anti-gay enough, the Russian Duma (their legislature) has passed a new law that bans people from even talking about homosexuality. It still has to be passed by the upper chamber and signed by Putin, but that is a certainty. Read more

Most of the anti-gay right at least pretends not to be barbaric theocrats who want to throw gay people in prison (if they’re lucky) or put them to death. Not MassResistance, the astonishingly bigoted group from Massachusetts. They positively adore Nigeria for passing a bill that puts people in prison merely for advocating gay rights. Read more

A man accused of terrorism in Canada is demanding an attorney who will argue that he should be judged on the basis of the Quran rather than on the criminal law of that country. Surprisingly, he’s having a hard time finding one. One attorney quit as a result. Read more

First we had Bradlee Dean saying that Muslims who put gay people to death are “more moral than even the American Christians.” Now we have Larry Jacobs of the World Congress of Families — no families with gay people allowed, of course — claiming that Russia not only a model for what we should do in America but are he “Christian saviors” of the world for their anti-gay laws.
