Beck: MO Unrest Could Lead Companies to Move Overseas

In one of the weirder reactions to the race-fueled unrest in Missouri after police shot and killed another unarmed young black man, Glenn Beck says that if Obama doesn’t issue a call for stability, it could lead American companies to move overseas. He said this shortly before Obama issued exactly such a call.

“It’s absolutely unbelievable,” Beck said, “and especially if you look at it this way: the entire world is on fire, we have companies that are leaving America. Why are the companies leaving America? It’s too expensive for them to stay, but also I’m not sure if I’m going to bet on the stability of this place.”

“You add instability,” Beck lectured his staff, “you add riots on the street, more companies want to leave, more companies overseas say I don’t know if I should invest there. We’ve always been stable. The president has got to call for stability!”

Man, those morning staff meetings Beck has are just bizarre. His staff must just learn to put on a face to mask the WTF face they want to have listening to his stream-of-consciousness ranting.

Plus, the instability gives immigrant kids the perfect opportunity to infect Americans with Ebola!

And now, if the past is any indication, the Right will feign outrage that Obama escalated racial tensions by commenting.

And interfering in local affairs like some kind of tyrant.

His comment about excessive force by the police––the police who resisted using excessive force on Sunday night… To me, the president only inflamed the situation.

the entire world is on fire,

(…but it’s not due to global warming.)

That’s the great thing about Beck, you can always count on him to be calm and measured without a hint of hyperbole.

And the cops are trying to blame the victim by saying there was a “robbery” of some candy cigars at a nearby convenience store.

And the cops are trying to blame the victim by saying there was a “robbery” of some candy cigars at a nearby convenience store.

So to cover their murdering asses they have to try to come up with a crime their victim, with no criminal history, might have been guilty of.

Hey, you don’t have to send jobs overseas. We’ll be happy to take them.

Just look north and wave. You’ll see us. Heck, we’ll even come down there with a U-Haul and pick them up.

    “We’ve always been stable.”
Sure. Especially from 1861 through 1865. And from 1775 through 1784. And during the anti-Vietnam demonstrations and other riots of the 1960s. And the Prohibition era of the 1920s and 1930s. And during the labor strikes and riots at other times, and the anti-draft riots during WWI. And . . .
But other than that, absolutely, the US has always been stable.

If the entire world is on fire as Beck says then why move anywhere except to another planet?

Is Beck pulling a Gingrich on us?

Me: “Yes, dear. See you in a few days.”

So if the US is going to Hell in a handbasket and companies are fleeing the country, why is Beck still here? Are sane people allowed to cheer when he leaves?

See! Beck IS a profit prophet!!!

  16. fmitchell says

Yes, the biggest argument against an over-militarized, disorganized, and possibly racist police force going berserk is that companies might move overseas.

Don’t hang around on my account; Singapore is waiting. Or perhaps one of the nations in Latin America would give you more scope to disseminate your… wisdom.

StevoR: Even the oceans and icecaps?

They must be full of methane, like that burning water the Native Americans used.

  20. John Pieret says

    caseloweraz @ 24

They must be full of methane, like that burning water the Native Americans used.

Actually, they are … lots of methane “ice” in the deep oceans and the arctic tundra has lots of it locked up in the permafrost. But global warming is starting to melt the ice and permafrost. Because methane is an even more of a greenhouse gas than CO2, it is a “feedback mechanism” that may greatly accelerate global warming.

But don’t worry, be happy! Like a Republibagger!

If Glenn Beck had any common sense or decency, the story would have read:

Glenn Beck says that if Ferguson police don’t hold themselves accountable for gross misconduct, it could lead American companies to move overseas.
