New Fraud Joins WND’s Israel Tour

Joseph Farah is leading yet another tour of Israel with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, a messianic Jew with views just as bizarre as you would expect from someone who hangs out with Farah. And now there’s a third fraud joining the tour, none other than disgraced televangelist Jim Bakker.

He runs a giant Christian television network.

He helped found TBN and PTL – two pioneering Christian networks.

And he and his wife are joining the 2014 WND Israel tour with Joseph Farah and Jonathan Cahn this November.

But Jim and Lori Bakker are not coming as celebrities or guest speakers, but as spiritual pilgrims. Jim Bakker hasn’t been to Israel in decades, and Lori Bakker has never been there.

They got the idea to come when Cahn, author of “The Harbinger” and the inspiration behind “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” made a guest appearance on the Bakkers’ daily TV show.

“Jim Bakker is one of the giants and pioneers of Christian television,” said Cahn. “He helped found TBN and PTL and worked with Pat Robertson in the early years of ‘The 700 Club.’ He sat with world leaders and presidents in the White House. And yet the most powerful part of his story is what happened after being humbled under God’s hand, a humbling from which he emerged a changed man, a man of profound humility, compassion and grace – and with even more zeal for the Lord.”

Uh, he wasn’t “humbled under God’s hand.” He was exposed as a fraud by the Charlotte Observer in an investigation that found they’d ripped off thousands of people, lived a lavish lifestyle with the fruits of that fraud and paid almost $300,000 to Jessica Hahn to buy her silence after Jim had an affair with her. And he emerged from prison still a charlatan, but on a smaller scale. His new scam is survival supplies and freeze dried food. So he sounds perfect for this trip with a pair of other con men.

I love that when you said “Disgraced Televangelist” I still had to keep reading to find out who because there are so many to choose from!

Jim Bakker is still alive? I am reminded of that Radio Shack commercial, “The 80s called and they want their store back.”

By comparison with a bunch of mass-killers of civilians such as the government of Israel, these kooks and frauds look almost benign. But clearly, that government is making every effort to stay in with its most reliably uncritical group of supporters in the USA: far-right religious extremists.

What “giant Christian television network” does Jimmy the B “run” these days?

Ah gee, when will the IDF impose Hama Rules and really give ole Nicky boy something to really whine about? By the way, one of your heroes bit the dust in Iraq the other day.
