Paul Elam, King of the MRAs

Paul Elam is the owner of A Voice For Men and the guy who organized that men’s rights conference in Detroit a couple weeks ago. He’s also a vile, misogynist piece of shit all the way to the core. His own words make that absolutely clear and undeniable. David Futrelle has kindly provided a rundown for us. Like this:

I have ideas about women who spend evenings in bars hustling men for drinks, playing on their sexual desires … And the women who drink and make out, doing everything short of sex with men all evening, and then go to his apartment at 2:00 a.m.. Sometimes both of these women end up being the “victims” of rape.

But are these women asking to get raped?

In the most severe and emphatic terms possible the answer is NO, THEY ARE NOT ASKING TO GET RAPED.

They are freaking begging for it.

Damn near demanding it.

And all the outraged PC demands to get huffy and point out how nothing justifies or excuses rape won’t change the fact that there are a lot of women who get pummeled and pumped because they are stupid (and often arrogant) enough to walk though life with the equivalent of a I’M A STUPID, CONNIVING BITCH – PLEASE RAPE ME neon sign glowing above their empty little narcissistic heads.

Elam pulled that off his website later, saying that he was just being “provocative and controversial” and that he removed it because it “no longer serves a useful service to anyone but dishonest and hateful ideologues.” Because only a “hateful ideologue” would find his statement to be repulsive, amirite? But he apparently wasn’t just being “provocative and controversial” when he said this to a woman who criticized his plan to doc drop women he thinks falsely accused men of rape:

Now, let me ask you something. Do you think I am going to stop?

It’s a serious question, because the answer to that question, again if you are not too stupid to grasp the impact of it, should inform you of what will work for you or not work for you in dealing with me.

And the answer is, of course, no, I am not going to stop. You see, I find you, as a feminist, to be a loathsome, vile piece of human garbage. I find you so pernicious and repugnant that the idea of fucking your shit up gives me an erection.

Well that’s stable and rational. There is much, much more that reveals Elam to be a deeply disturbed human being.

So he’s confessing that he posts names, pictures, home addresses and phone numbers of women who he decides falsely accused men of rape?

Who appointed him judge? IANAL, but I think this might be actionable.

    MRA : vile, misogynist piece of shit :: toe-may-toe : tuh-mah-toe

I think you might need a (small) fine-tune on your Venn diagram.

It could be. Especially if one of these women are attacked and/or killed.

He reminds me of Ted Bundy.

Suppose you are an MRA. Then suppose you are a vile, misogynistic piece of shit. But I repeat myself.

Now you’ve done it, Ed. When Reddit sees this, you’ll have a swarm of angry dudebros whining that free thought should begin and end with “I don’t believe in God,” and anything else is diluting the message merely to benefit those eeevil feminazis and their beta male white knights.

Why don’t people understand the simplist thing? There is no point, no matter how provocative someone has been, no matter how much they drank, no matter what their intentions are when they walk into a room, at which a person loses the right to say “no” or “stop.”

  7. D. C. Sessions says

cptdoom, you’re missing the most important part:

“Stop” is the default. Out-cold unconscious the ability to say “no” is certainly not there. It’s also not required.

Sheesh. I’ve been in the Spam Wars for almost two full decades now, and people still don’t get the difference between “opt in” and “opt out.” The “rape wars” have the same problem, but it’s not decades it’s multiple millennia.

I know you are, you said you are but what am I?

Sorry I know that’s treating him with more respect than he deserves.

    I think that this:

“I have ideas about women who spend evenings in bars hustling men for drinks, playing on their sexual desires…”

is as far as I needed to read.

Somebody thinks that he’s not getting his money’s worth.

I’ve joked about there being a quid pro quo, but it’s a joke. I no more expect a woman to “put out” for dinner and drinks than I ever expected a customer to give me his business just because I bought him a burger and couple of beers.

Love really isn’t for sale and for doucheclowns like the subject of Ed’s post I’m not sure that many professional women would sell him what he so urgently desires.

A little OT here, but still about the privileged status of men…

I am sincerely, deeply, puzzled by the nearly half of women that identify as Republicans. What’s wrong with these people? To somehow believe there is no right-wing war on women, is to be delusional. Where do the Hobby Lobby Hollys, Michelle Bachmanns, and Sarah Palins of the world come from? I accept, of course, that there are folks of either gender who are just bad people (Schlafly comes to mind). But, surely (don’t call me Shirley), 25% of the population can’t be that blind, can they?

    Enquiring minds want to know.
