Gheen: Immigrants Want to Kill Your Families

William Gheen, the racist and xenophobic Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), did an interview with the Tea Party News Network and claimed that immigrants from Mexico are “invading” America and their goal is to kill you and your family. Yes, I’m serious, he actually said that.

There’s no type of mercy that anyone out there that’s not a flaming socialist, communist or liberal is going to receive from these people. You’re not going to be able to just stand up and say, ‘Please, please spare us from this invasion.’

They’re like, look, they’re bringing in, they’re using in drug cartels to bring in a new block of 80, 90 percent Democratic voters. And there will be no way the Tea Party or any other grassroots organization is ever going to be able to succeed against 20 million that are voting on racial identity and that will vote for more benefits and what they consider to be reparations. Some of them hate us for their perceived status in life. They’re taught in Mexican schools that the reason they’re so poor is because their evil neighbor to the north stole all their mineral-rich land, and of course our ancestors slaughtered all of their ancestors.

And when you teach people this from the time they’re children, they develop a kind of hatred. They may smile at you as they serve you your cheeseburger or peruse across your law with a weed eater, but underneath it, when they look at you, they see a person who they blame to be responsible for their poverty and the genocide of their ancestors, and the only way you can make that even-Steven with them is for you and your whole family to die.

At the risk of offending Mr. Godwin, this really does remind me of the demonization of Jews in Nazi Germany. As Hitler told it, they were an invading force as well, a “cancer” eating away at German society with loyalty only to themselves and not to the country. Similar rhetoric, similar ideology.

Wait .. Tea party news network – you mean Fox news or is that an actual thing now?

Also I wonder how *he* knows what’s taught in mexican schools and whether he has any of that, oh, y’know, evidence stuff to back these extraordinary claims up?

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Sheesh, do they actually employ and use editors? Or do they like to spout this crap in public unrehearsed and make themselves look like the flaming piles of stoopid they truly are?*

Actually, net immigration from Mexico is way down. To about zero.

George Bush did it. When he cratered the economy, unemployment went up to 10% and millions of jobs disappeared. Without available jobs, there wasn’t any reason for Mexicans to run the border.

The current wave of immigrants in the news are from central America, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatamala. And they aren’t looking for jobs so much as trying not to get killed.

And it isn’t even the USA. They are fleeing to other central American countries too.

I don’t know what it is now, 2014. With the economy recovering under Obama, it might have picked up. OTOH, unemployment is still high.

My fantasy solution to the “immigration problem” would be to have some sort of Marshall Plan for Mexico and central America. If they joined the first world, they wouldn’t have to migrate up north. And we would have nice places to retire to and go for winter vacations from places like…Michigan.

It’s not impossible. Poor countries don’t always stay poor. But it isn’t likely right now.

  12. Synfandel says

While they’re perusing across the law with a weed eater, I hope they will prune out the second amendment.

    Not necessarily so easy.

Since this thread has already been godwinned I’m going to point out that a lot of people in post WWII Germany denied their membership of the Nazi party and claimed to have opposed it all along – they were tested and mostly not believed.

I recall a scene in one movie / TV show on this where a german claiming to have been a member of an anti-nazi party is asked who his party’s leader was. Rewply : “it’s er,, um, ahh, er.. oh its on the it wthetipof my tongue is was , um ,, er ..” (embarrassed silence. Gotchya.)

No, it’s a sloppy transcription. He actually said “cruise across your lawn with a weed eater.” He’s an idiot, but even idiots should be quoted correctly.

  15. Alverant says

Let’s not forget the War on Drugs. Drug abuse in the USA is what fuels all those gangs and cartels that make live in Latin American countries so much harder and dangerous. If you take away the illegality of it and improve treatment, the gangs will lose power and won’t be able to use towns and cities as their own shooting gallery.

    . . . voting [based] on racial identity . . .

    Not quite.

The Tea Party is the party of weird, angry, old white men.

It’s tribalism but not the most interesting tribe we have.

Actually, the vast majority of “ordinary” Nazis, and even many important ones, got away with pretending that they were much less involved andor knowledgeable than they were. See for example Daniel Jonah Goldhagen Hitler’s Willing Executioners, and Yvonne Sherratt’s Hitler’s Philosophers.

  20. says

It’s nice that more of them are coming out and saying that they’re against The Illegals coming or staying, not because they’re The Illegals, but because if they’re legalized they’ll vote for the party that doesn’t hate them.

Ogvorbis: Still failing at being human. . . . voting [based] on racial identity . . . “Isn’t that the Teaparty?”
No. White isn’t a race. It’s the default setting, much like “male” is the default sex and “Christian” is the default religion.

  21. dhall says

So . . . they don’t want them to come into the country, but they’ll hire them to serve ‘em burgers and do the yard work (while reading, apparently), and get away with paying them crap. Does this mean that if they throw the immigrants back out that they’ll have to do their own yard work and cook? Sully their little hands with some manual labor?

  22. jasmyn says

“They may smile at you as they serve you your cheeseburger or peruse across your law with a weed eater”

Fucking seriously? Because Hispanic (okay, brown people in general) only do jobs to serve white people. Wow.

George Bush did it. When he cratered the economy, unemployment went up to 10% and millions of jobs disappeared. Without available jobs, there wasn’t any reason for Mexicans to run the border.

That’s part of it. Another factor is that Mexico’s economy has grown rapidly and now offers far more opportunity. Another, perhaps more important factor, is that the fertility rate in Mexico has dropped from just under 7 in 1970 to just over 2 today. So there are far fewer young Mexicans looking for work, and will be fewer still in the coming decades. (Incidentally, these two things are related — good economies and low fertility go hand-in-hand, though the direction of causality is debatable.)

This indicates that the great wave of Mexican immigration is over, and an improving American economy isn’t going to matter. But try explaining that to a wingnut. They will not believe it. If it interferes with their paranoia and hate, they don’t want to hear it.

I have to wonder if there has been increased FBI watchdogging on these White Supremacy hate groups…I hope these groups aren’t being ingnored simply because they’re American citizens.. And that they’re under watch and that the reason I haven’t heard anything about it is because the FBI is doing a really really good job of keeping under the radar. Fortunately back biting, purity tests and uncompomising rigidity is the thing that keeps us safe from them in the long run (meaning their upticks in violence, as bad as they can be, are only temporary because they can’t hold together)
