Klayman Sues Blogger for Quoting Court Ruling

Remember that court ruling in Larry Klayman’s divorce/custody case that suggested that he may have touched his children inappropriately? He’s now suing cartoonist Ken Avidor for quoting that court ruling, something I have done as well. It was filed a year ago and dismissed but now Klayman has refiled it.

Failed Second American Revolutionary and Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman has refiled his defamation lawsuit against City Pages blogger Aaron Rupar, cartoonist Ken Avidor, City Pages, Phoenix area media and Voice Media of Denver, court filings in the Florida Middle District court system reveal.

As we noted last month in On eve of Larry’s revolution, judge grants motion to dismiss in Klayman vs. City Pages et al., the case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning that Klayman could refile the lawsuit.

Once again, Klayman calls Rupar a “radical pro-homosexual activist” while Avidor is merely a “pro-homosexual activist” who where out to defame Klayman because he represented Bradlee Dean in a separate defamation lawsuit brought against Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, local journalist Andy Birkey and the now-defunct Minnesota Independent.

As Klayman always does, his complaint is really just a list of political grievances and accusations that the people he’s suing are raging liberals and gay rights activists, as though that has any relevance to the legal arguments. I’m sure this will be dismissed again, hopefully with prejudice this time so it can’t be refiled. I’m as open to such a suit as Avidor was because I’ve quoted that court ruling as well. Klayman is dumb, but he isn’t dumb enough to think he has any chance of winning such a suit. He’s just trying to bully people into silence.

Why is Klayman using the court system? Doesn’t he run one of those “Sovereign Citizen Courts” in the barn in his back yard or something?

I wonder, does he (or others) ever use these filings to (dishonestly) smear and ad hom their enemies along the lines of “John Doe, who’s been named in numerous court documents as a radical pro-homosexual nazi…”? Seems like the kind of tactic that would work on the crowd he fleeces.

When is the legal system finally going to get sick of this guy and disbar him.

He’s got a 4-day(!) disciplinary hearing scheduled in late June by the DC bar. Rescheduled from a 2-day hearing last week – he managed to add ethical violations while waiting for the hearing.

Another defendant in the suit, Phoenix New Times, apparently stated in print “Klayman’s been in trouble with a Bar association before, as he was publicly reprimanded by the Florida Bar in 2011 for taking money from a client, and never doing any work.”

It’s strange though because he’s claiming that this is a libelous claim, but the PNT links to an article in the Miami New Times claiming exactly the same thing, yet the MNT is not a named defendant.

Ah, his Citizen Grand Juries. He has to save those for indicting Obama. If he uses them too much, they could become meaningless.
