‘Gay Supremacy’ Worse than White Supremacy

Mary Baker is one of those rarest of creatures, a black tea partier. She is a speaker for Tea Party Nation and the leader of a group called Conservative Moms for America. And in this brief blog post she makes a staggeringly ignorant claim about something she thinks exists called “gay supremacy.”

When white supremacy tried to make a mark in American history it was viciously attacked quickly put down by the people of our nation.

What? I mean seriously, what? Could she really be that blissfully unaware of history? White supremacy existed and was a powerful force in this country from before it was created until (at the very least) the mid-1960s. It still exists today, though it no longer has much influence. And this is a black person saying this, for crying out loud.

But Gay Supremacy is becoming a monster that carries greater evils than white supremacy ever did. White Supremacy was focused on how a group of people felt about another group of people. They created various barriers for those they hated and their views about their superiority to others provided the frame work for the citizens of this nation to search their hearts and understand that God has created every person in His image. However Gay Supremacy’s hate reaches much farther than a specific group of people. Their is no common ground that can be reached. Their is no searching of the heart or consideration of God’s principles. Their hate is generated only by self centeredness and hate for anyone who disagrees with them.

There is no such thing as gay supremacy, FFS. There are no groups of gay people who think being gay is superior to being straight. There’s no one out there trying to prevent people from being straight or pass laws denying equal rights to straight people. There’s no one who thinks that gay people have an inherent right to rule the world. There’s no one burning giant penises on the lawns of straight people or hanging them from trees. This isn’t just a straw man, it’s a delusion.

The first comment is hilariously stupid as well:

You raise an interesting point about “White Supremacy vs. Gay Supremacy” – driving people out of corporations is just like the KKK driving black people out of town, and liberal bullying is just like KKK cross-burning.

Yep, you’re right. It’s just like that. *eyeroll*

Be it noted that Mary Baker has a gay son, whom she (according to her testimony) accepts. I was going to throw out some snark, but knowing that I won’t.

Her claim about “gay supremacy is still absurd, of course.

Sounds like one helluva Halloween party. Now won’t someone PLEASE think of the lesbians?

Those damned liberal bullies at it again. I bet they even forced a white supremacist or two to resign from public positions of authority.

Sure! What’s more, they prevented David Duke from winning his runs for the Louisiana State Senate, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and Governor of Louisiana.

whom she (according to her testimony) accepts

In Baker’s own words: “[My son] knows how his dad and I feel about his lifestyle, but our role is to show him grace and mercy, because God showed us grace and mercy when we were in darkness, but if my son tells me I have to accept him and his partner or he will not have fellowship with us anymore, then we won’t have fellowship. We don’t try and force him out of his choice and he has no right to force us out of ours.”

That’s a pretty loose standard for “acceptance,” given Baker’s explicit conditional threat that her son must either remain single, or at a minimum exclude his partner from his family life, in order to be welcome in his mother’s life (leaving aside the description of her son’s life as a “lifestyle” and the assertion that his homosexuality is a “choice”).

I think your sarcasm detector is on the fritz. That comment is clearly a critique of Baker’s absurd statements.

No, it’s in earnest. Go read the full comment at the link to see the mind-numbing idiocy in full glory.

I totally missed the memo…. and to think I could have been persecuting straight people all this time.

To be fair, being a black Tea Partier is pretty damn difficult UNLESS you believe that white supremacy made no mark on US history.

On the plus side (if you’re a straight KKKristianist in a one of the bigger MSA’s–one who owns an upscale linens store) think of the fashion statements they’ll be making when they’re burning those giant penises!
