ADF: Christians ‘Second Class Citizens’ if Not Allowed to Discriminate

One of the hallmarks of the Christian right is that they are continually trying to borrow the language of those they seek to oppress. Joseph LaRue of the Alliance Defending Freedom does this when he claims that Christians will be “treated as second class citizens by their government” if they aren’t allowed to treat others as second-class citizens. Up is down. Black is white. War is peace.

So Mr LaRue – you’re fully on-board with preventing citizens being treated as ‘second-class citizens’ by their government, citizens such as gays, Blacks, Hispanics, women, the disabled etc?

Nah, I really didn’t think so – bigot.

    Dingo

He sounds like one of those “lets go back to being able to throw rocks at people until they die” types. Because he should be able to fully express his beliefs with murder. That’s what the all loving creator of the universe wants. Rock murder.

Every single person of faith has to, at least, accept his/her fellow citizens that reject that faith, and/or follow another “lifestyle choice” that faith condemns. That means you have to serve them if you own a restaurant, you have to take pictures of them (if you run a photography business) and you have to make the damn wedding cake even if the marriage is completely unrecognized by your faith. That is what is required of citizens in this country, and the First Amendment to our most important founding document requires you to accept heresy, blasphemy, paganism and every other type of faith out there as a valid choice for your fellow citizens. Deal with it.

The new Gay Rights slogan: We just want to be treated the same as the Mormons.

Maybe it won’t be so bad. I’m sure that their puffed up sense superiority and self-importance will go a long way to assauge their hurt feelings.

As these bigoted types are famous for not quite thinking it through before speaking, they certainly do have a talent for answering their own questions in their rants. He nailed it on the head around :35 when he stated something to the effect of: the government would need a really good reason or through which be unable to do their job unless I went against my own religious beliefs. Well there it is. The governments charge is to represent the best interest of the American people and since your beliefs don’t allow you to treat LGBT’s equally then we are gonna need you to shut the fuck up, so the government can do its job. I hate the entitlement and over inflated self importance in his voice the most.

I’ve decided I like the ADF now.

They are clearly incompetent and waste hundreds of thousands or RW armband christianist dollars every year that might be spent on more successful initiatives.

    Nah, still hate ‘em.

I am surrounded by Christians all day long. I do not hear the gnashing of their teeth, hear the ripping of their clothes, or see them covered in ciders and ash. Some how I think very, very few will suffer any permanent physical or mental harm requiring medical aid paid for with an affordable insurance policy.
