Beck: Criticism of Perkins Proves Him Right

Glenn Beck came to the defense of Tom Perkins, the billionaire who made the deluded claim that we’re on the verge of killing the ultra-rich just like Hitler did the Jews, on his show. He even said that the criticism of Perkins, and the fact that his own company distanced themselves from his comments, is proof that he’s right. “We are Germany 1930,” Beck said. “You can deny it all you want, but the socialist revolution is here.”

Once upon a time, Henny Glenny was pecking away on his show when he was hit in the face with a black president. “The democracy is falling!” said Henny Glenny. “I must tell the People!” So he marched off to tell the People. On his way, he met Turkey Perkey. “Where are you going, Henny Glenny” asked Turkey Perkey. “The democracy is falling, and I am on my way to tell the People” replied Henny Glenny. “The democracy is falling? Oh no! I will come with you” replied Turkey Perkey…

When Mr Perkins first embarrassed himself with that comment, I thought how horrible it would be if one were Very-Very-Rich but just shy by a million of being Ultra-Rich and thus never to be carted away. That would be so sad.

I think the only time Beck has a problem with comparisons of Nazism is when it refers to homophobic, anti-semetic, nativist, anti-atheist, nationalistic, or racist people.

Dave – feel free to contribute. We need appropriate replacements for goosey loosey, ducky lucky, cocky locky, and of course foxy loxy.

I’m thinking the ending should be foxy loxy telling them they can take a shortcut to the People by going through the General Election…where of course they get eaten.

    *sigh*
If only he was within light years of being correct!

It was my understanding that it weren’t the socialists who came into power in Germany in the 30ies. But what the hell do I know.

I am so bored of right wing morons claiming the Nazis were socialists. How complicated can it be to grasp the fact that self-granted labels often reflect a desire rather than reality?

“We are Germany 1930,” Beck said.

This is easy to test just ask yourself two questions.

    1. Is the place I am in actually called, in the English language, Germany?

    2. Is the year 1930?

If you answer yes to both I may take you seriously, though I may also back away slowly and start looking for the exit.

@13 It doesn’t matter they all mean Others anyway. What difference does it make how those outside the tribe divide themselves up the important thing is if they aren’t in the tribe they are the enemy.

IMO they more often reflect co-option of a popular label for PR purposes, with no desire whatsoever to be that thing. As the old saying goes: countries with “Democratic” in their title generally aren’t, and subjects with “science” in their title generally aren’t.

Holy bejebus, so in addition to all the other hyperbole he was flinging, he literally said that the guy was “savagely beaten”…

He posted a tweet that said a company who some people might have associated with the guy said “we are shocked by his views and do not agree”…and thats held up as a horrible example of impending nazi style crackdown…
