Porter: We’re Winning, We’re Winning!

One of the amusing things over the last few months for me has been watching the bigots try to convince themselves and others that they’re winning a battle they are losing so badly that they really ought to surrender. Janet Porter is the latest to declare that the tide has turned and now they’re going to stop the “homosexual agenda.”

Thanks to Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, Bible-believing Christians “ended 2013 on a victory,” says Janet Porter, president of Ohio-based Faith2Action (f2a).

“This is the turning point, thanks to the courage of Phil Robertson,” Porter told CNSNews.com. “The tide has turned against the homosexual agenda, and the message is that the only way to keep our freedom is to use it.”…

But she says the backlash against A&E has “given me more hope than I’ve seen in a very long while. The thing that makes this different is that this is the most popular cable show in history and this guy is not backing down under any circumstances. God bless him. People are fed up. They get it.

“What I saw happen for the first time in this debate is that Phil Roberston asserted his freedom and America stood with him. This was the biggest breath of fresh air since Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” she added, calling Robertson’s reinstatement “a real game-changer.”

Wanna bet on that? The polling data is overwhelmingly turning against you. Equality is winning. And there isn’t a damn thing you can do to stop it.

And change will be pushed along by things like the announcement that Lily Tomlin got married. She’s been with her partner, Jane Wagner, for 42 years. A 42 year relationship, yet they couldn’t get married because they were both women.

We Conservatives are winning. If The Gays were winning, would they need to put on these “Pride” rallies all the time? No! And do you know who else liked to rally?*

    * Hitler!

But you don’t see “traditional” marriages being dissolved and people forced to gay marry. And people aren’t marrying children or their cat. So they did win!

Chiroptera “But you don’t see ‘traditional’ marriages being dissolved and people forced to gay marry.”
But we have to remain vigilant, as they can still try to force their homosexuality down our throats at any time.

    Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day? That’s a thing?

You may know of it as The Fat, Greasy, and Salty Foods Pride Day sponsored by the American Defibulator Manufacturing Organization

Which isn’t saying much. This really is how hopeless their situation is, some bigot said some bigoted shit and didn’t perform the notpology jig afterwards. I really see it as a victory in the other direction, the overwhelming majority of outrage was coming from the religious right A.K.A the tea party, for everybody else it was meh same shit different day. Meanwhile the Governor of Missouri signed an executive order to allow same sex couples to file jointly on their tax returns, you enjoy your “victory” Janet we are concentrating on crushing you on the front lines and winning the war.

I have to admit, I’ve never watched the show. Didn’t hear or see what he said. But if it’s a reality show about his family, of course he should be allowed to say any bigoted thing he wants on his show. I suspect she’s confusing support for him being allowed to say stupid crap on his show with support for the stupid crap he says.

How far the Right have fallen when their flagging hopes are revived by a flash-in-the-pan reality show star. This isn’t a sign that the tide is turning in their favor, it’s just one more sign that they’re doomed.

    I weep for America.

    truly I do.

I managed to ruin two perfectly good traditional marriages before the homosexual agenda came along to help you kids out! So take that!

that’s one of the more twisted expressions of “GET OFF MY LAWN!” I have seen for sometime.

    :)

Not having a (working) television, I had to look up what this Phil Robertson guy looked like. Two words: closeted bear. Yeah, he knows the best rest stop bathrooms for when you’re looking for twinks.
