RNC Declares War on Christmas!

Oh, Bill O’Reilly is not going to be happy about this at all. Not one little bit. The Republican National Committee has shown the world that it hates Jesus and America by tweeting a Happy Kwanzaa greeting to the black people they spend the rest of the year working against. And some of the responses are hilarious.

RNCKwanzaa1

Even black conservatives weren’t buying it:

RNCKwanzaa2

That worked out well, don’t you think?

Why won’t they wish me a happy Festivus?

    Or a joyous saturnalia?

The only greeting I would accept from the RNC would be a wish for me to fuck off and die, because then I will know, by reflection, that I have been doing something really worthwhile with my life.

Uhhh, not to derail the thread, but….

WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE MOTHERFUCKING AD THAT’S STARTING AND RUNNING OVER THE “Support FTB” BANNER TO FUCKING STOP OPENING ITSELF? IT DOES SO EVERY FUCKING TIME I HIT A FORWARD BUTTON. IT ANNOYS THE FUCKING HELL OUT OF ME!

Sorry, that rant was unseemly, HAVE THE WEBMASTER FIX THE GLITCH.

    Thank you.

@5: There’s a “tech issues” button at the top, right above the “SPA” in “DISPATCHES”. Ed and Jason are good about responding to that. There’s also an ad-free option, for $30/year.

The site’s been a bit wonky all morning for me, perhaps the runaway ad has something to do with it.

On topic: I was surprised to see that the responses weren’t from the religious conservatives themselves.

Speaking of things the RNC hates…The AG of Utah has filed his request for a stay in the case that allowed same-sex marriages in Utah. The stay request goes to J. Sotomayor and she has given the other side until noon on Friday to respond. The Salt Lake Tribune (sltrib.com/news) has the article.

Isn’t the minority du jour the Hispanics? I’d like to see a happy Día de Muertos from the RNC but then again they are probably too busy running around telling everybody that Halloween is of the devil to appease the religious right.

It would also be better than the RNC’s traditional (yes, deliberate word choice) practice of butting in on our lives, any of us who don’t live according to the Christian code that most Republican legislators don’t themselves live up to, particularly those of us who are minorities and/or female.

Compared to that, being simply told to fuck off and die would be…..wow, it’s almost literally unthinkable.

Can we be certain that the RNC was not being sarcastic? Because what they think is sneer-worthy is very different from that of normal human beings. Also, they don’t know how to do satire.

I’ve been wishing people a Happy Battle of Parker’s Crossroads Day, which only cranks off admirers of Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Those non-Real Americans®, like Jews and blacks (but, most definitely, not atheists!), are allowed to have their quaint little pretend “holidays” as long as they don’t aspire to be as important as Christmas!

    Pandering? What pandering?

    @Trebuchet:

I took your advice and sent them a message.

It’s a pisshole in the snow to most folks, but not everyone has the ability to come up with $30 for whatever.

I don’t pay to go to any other blog and there’s a good chance I won’t be blogging from home, soon. Yeah, money is that tight that the $45/month for TWC is going to be too much–and soon.

No one will be surprised to learn that this tweet has drawn a backlash from true Tea Party members.

Inasmuch as a bountiful “harvest” of backlash to this Kwanzaa tweet was to be expected, I think we can safely say that Mr. Frederick is one of the “first fruits.”

See the photo of Jeff Frederick on the far right (appropriately enough), celebrating something or other — apparently NOT Kwanzaa or Festivus, though! LOL

I dunno — seems to be getting into the spirit of Festivus, starting with the “Airing of the Grievances”…

The airing of grievances is a daily — if not hourly — sacrament for Republicans.
