Christian ‘Patriot’ Says He Has Right to Kill Obama

On Nov. 19, the same day that Larry Klayman held his failed rally of “millions” (more like tens) of people to demand the resignation of President Obama and spark a “second American revolution,” one of his supporters posted on his Facebook page that he had the constitutional authority to kill the president. Everest Wilhelmsen, head of a group called the Christian American Patriots Militia, posted this and later removed it:

everest-wilhelmsen-threat-against-Obama

I’m sure Mr. Wilhelmsen has already already received a visit from the Secret Service, which no doubt only fed into his paranoid delusions and anti-government hostility.

If only these people would realize – if Obama was the dictator they think he is , they probably wouldn’t even be alive to post this.

What are you, still living in the nineties?

Visits from the Secret Service are so passe. These days cool nutjobs gets the drone flyovers!

  3. pianoman, Heathen & Torontophile says

I noticed there aren’t any specific, demonstrable examples of what he accuses Obama of doing anywhere in that rant. wonder why that is?

  4. says

I had no idea he was “comforting our foreign enemies”.*

    * “There, there. Everything’s going to be fine. Shhhhh. Obama’s here. It was just a bad dream. There, there.”

For people so ostensibly obsessed with the Constitution, they sure like reading things into it that aren’t actually there.

  6. John Pieret says

Wanna bet he’s never going to get or receive a private phone call, email or letter ever again in his life?

But remember, folks … the military and government in general are unfairly targeting the Christian right as potential terrorists!

I’ll bet the 3 people who liked it and the 378 people who shared it have heard from the Secret Service, too.

Being white, male, christian, patriotic americans means that they’re just offering a different opinion. No big deal, say the spooks. Freedom of speech, or some such rubbish.

The sad bit is, when Obama you know, doesn’t become a dictator, and calmly hands over power to the next person elected as president, these nut jobs will claim it as a ‘victory’.

I say help this fool’s delusions come partially true and arrest him for subversion and threatening the POTUS. Really, isn’t that actually illegal? As opposed to these so-called patriot’s inane definition of all of Obama’s supposed crimes?

@meg #16 – It is a common delusion: the magical amulet that keeps tigers from roaming Boston, or the “answered prayers” of waking up and finding that the sun has risen in the east.

    For people with readers:

We now have authority to shoot Obama, i.e., to kill him. His willful violations and alienation of our Constitution, constant disregard for our peaceful protests and corruption of all the three branches of government, (i.e., rogue and illegitiimate government), reveal the dictator that he is. Obama and his co-conspirators disrespect our Constitution (constitutional rule of law) and abuse the American people. The authority to kill Obama comes from the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution: He is levying war on the United States and aiding and comforting our foreign enemies — the 2nd Amendment gives us the right and duty (authority) to engage an enemy of the United States that does so with the design to reduce us under absolute Despotism. I would be very surprised, if Obama does not leave Washington DC today (Nov. 19th) …never to return, if he is not dead within the month. PLEASE JOIN US AT CHRISTIAN AMERICAN PATRIOTS MILITIA:

Don’t bet on it. The Secret Service doesn’t care if you are white, male, christian, and american when you threaten the president’s life and they deem you to have the means to be a legitimate threat. The only way he won’t get a visit is if he’s for some reason physically and financially unable to carry out the threat.

  14. raven says

    Really, isn’t that actually illegal?

Of course it is. Death threats are felonies.

There have been 2 others in the last few weeks. One guy has been arrested. The other was sent back to a mental hospital.

It’s a matter of time until this latest one is arrested. I’m sure right now they are more interested in giving him a mile or so of rope so they can find out who else is in the…Christian American Patriots Militia. They seemed to have left “White” out of there although it might just be understood.

In the fevered imaginations of wingnuts like this, “giving comfort to the enemy” includes anything that might warm the cockles of an enemy’s heart, including saying a kind word to an old lady or cuddling a puppy.

in a nation where on any given day you can buy a semiautomatic assault rifle for a couple hundred bucks… 1400 people espousing to agree with the view that you should assassinate a standing president is more than concerning and tragic.

wouldn’t matter if there were 5 billion people in the US, it only takes one asshole with a gun, and you know it.

that there are 1400 people, at all, who agree with this sentiment?

    that’s bad.

    I hope you’re right.
