And the Nobel Prize for Being Precocious and Adorable Goes To…

The highlight of the Neil deGrasse Tyson’s talk in Michigan Wednesday night was the last question asked, by the world’s smartest and most adorable 9 year old kid named Jacob. He’s the son of one of our CFI Michigan members. When was the last time you heard a 9 year old use the phrase “non-Newtonian solid”? Like never? Watch this.

Reminds me a lot of me, to be quite honest. I did stuff like that when I was a little kid, though it diminished with time… not sure why.

Big deal. I crap out non-Newtonian solids every day.

Reminds me of that teenager that started his first company ‘Traf- O-Data’, or some such name. Bill Gates.

    Wow.

When I learned that Neil DeGrasse Tyson was going to be speaking in Michigan I really wanted to go, except it was at GVSU, which is a 3 hour drive, and I had to work the next day. It might have been worth it, though, just for this exchange.

The kid is awesome, and the way in which Tyson engages him is equally so. I’ll bet that kid will grow up to be an astrophysicist after that conversation.
