Wingnut Wants The Gay ‘Suppressed Through the Force of Law’

Matt Trewhella of Voice of Christian Youth America gives up the game and admits something most other anti-gay bigots won’t admit anymore, that he wants homosexuals to be arrested and imprisoned like they used to be. Most bigots pretend that they just don’t want them to get married these days.

“That’s what people used to think about homosexuality,” Trewhella said wistfully. “They still knew it was wrong, they knew it was disgusting, it was a bad thing and you were messed up in the head if you wanted to practice those types of sexual behaviors.”

“It’s the depraved nature of man and that’s why it needs to be suppressed through the force of law, otherwise it proliferates within the culture to the point now where homosexuals who can’t reproduce actually adopt other people’s children to raise them.”

This maroon missed his bus to the dark ages. Of course ignorance and bigotry lives at all times but at least now s lot more people can be disgusted quickly.

He’s right. My family was at the park and a gang of homosexuals came along and adopted our kids right out from under us! We called the police, but there was nothing they could do.

    Voice of Christian Youth America…

Why are any organizations with “Family” or “Christian” in their name these days, seemingly composed of murderous, bigoted, not very bright, right wing extremist, sociopaths?*

Family Research Council, Christian Broadcasting Network, Christianpost, Christianity Today, Focus on the Family etc.

    It’s Orwellian Newspeak.

    Freedom is Slavery
    Ignorance is Strength.

    Christianity is Good

*There might be some benign groups with Christian in their name somewhere. They aren’t very visible any more.

I’m trying to come up with a more accurate name for this group.

Voice of Oogedy Boogedy Theocratic Youth of America would work. Or

Scammers of Dumb Christian Youth’s Parents of America.

    Oh really?

    dailymail. com:

But in November 2011, a week before their 12th wedding anniversary, Serge uttered 11 words which shattered that life, shocking Olga to her core and nearly costing her a promising career as a manager at the health chain Holland & Barrett.

‘We had been at home and the kids were in bed,’ the 34-year-old says, sniffing back tears. ‘Serge said, “I’m in love, but it’s not a woman, it’s a man.”

Gays can and do reproduce often.

The story above repeats itself often. Men often get married due to social pressures and find out later that it isn’t what they want for their life. (I’m looking at you Larry Craig.) Gay women have even more options and many have children.

Do watch out for xians though. They can’t recruit so they have to continue on by reproducing. But that doesn’t stop them from going after your kids any way they can. Matt Trewhella really is coming for your kids!!!

The old recruitment trope invoked. I have a suspicion they wouldn’t say the same thing of asexuals, though that’s probably less from hypocrisy and more a result of obliviousness and denial that asexuality exists.

As for infertile hetero couples, I’ve seen one troll invoke the alleged possibility of miraculous conception to permit their marriage. The troll also implied that strictly adoptive mothers aren’t “real” mothers because being “open to life” requires a woman to act as an incubator. Apparently the really important parts of human life are strictly biological with no intellectual, social or cultural components.

Is there a term for bigotry against adoptive families? I think I may have heard one before, but forgotten it.

@ 10Chiroptera Yep, it sucks for them, which is why they are trying so hard to remake this nation into something they will find more their style.

Leaving aside, for the moment, raven’s point at #8, am I missing something, or is this actually a good thing – having people willing to step in and put forward the time, effort, dedication and love required to raise children when their biological parents can’t or won’t?

So I guess Trewhella would support making the seven deadly sins illegal. You know: Lust, gluttony, etc.

Have you seen the clip that’s been released from the new Judi Dench movie, Philomena? She plays a woman from Ireland searching for the son she was forced to give up for adoption years before. In the clip, she finds out he was gay and then her next question is “did he father any children?” The reporter who’s helping her search gently tries to explain that she’s just been told he was gay, and what that means. She snaps immediately back at the reporter, telling him she understands, but plenty of gay men have had children. It’s a wonderfully delicious moment.

Actually, one of the rationales for the evolution of homosexuality within species that I’ve heard is that we are, in fact, built-in adoptive parents. Having a small number of adults less likely to reproduce means we have time for our nieces and nephews, and can step in as supplemental or replacement parents if necessary. In a tribal society, it could be an advantage and raise the probability of children of the tribe surviving. Wouldn’t that be ironic? If “God’s will” were for gays and lesbians to be there as adoptive parents?
